Lead has the key part in relation to intoxication by heavy metals. The aim of this determination of correlation between the level of delta-aminolevulinic acid in urine and some other parameters with workers professionally expose to the influence of lead in different parts of the factory producing batteries "Zletovo" in Probistip. The material being used for analysis was the urine 256 persons of both sexses, age level 20-50 years.

Assessment of Trace Metal Distribution and Contamination In Surface Soils of Al-Waziriya, Baghdad

A total of 100 samples from the top soil were collected from four different zones (tow industrial locations, tow residential locations) located in Al-Waziriya, Baghdad. Soil samples were analyzed for their content of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn. A profile for average content of these selected metals has been determined by taking average values for different zones. The average concentrations of Cd, Cu, Pb ... [Show full abstract] and Zn in the whole area were 11.45, 143.3, 3291.38 and 195.2 mg/kg, respectively. Highest concentrations for selected heavy metals were observed in the industrial area. Enrichment factor calculations indicated that Pb, Cu, Cd and Zn are highly enriched. Battery factories, fossil fuel combustion from traffic emissions, wear of brake lining materials, and several industrial processes are considered as major sources of the studied heavy metals.

Affect, professional interests and personality in high school students

Considering the professional choice making as important decision process on people's life, this research aimed to explore relationships of positive and negative affects with professional interests and personality, using the instruments Zanon Affects Scale, Self-Directed Search and Personality Factorial Battery. 92 high-school students, aged between 14 and 18, attended this research, being 59.8% ... [Show full abstract] girls. The results showed little relation between affects and professional interests. Considering affects and personality, moderate magnitude coefficients were observed. Also, positive and negative affects were predicted by Extroversion and Neuroticism, respectively. Further research is recommended with complementary constructs from Vocational Guidance and Positive Psychology theory.

Siemens' Electronic Personal Dosimeter System is described, which is the first of a new generation of 'legal' all-electronic dosimeters for approved dosimetry services. A benefit of the Electronic Personal Dosimeter System as a legal dosimetry system is the low operating cost for an ADS. The annual service can be performed at the factory or a large ADS. The EPD is made to high environmental specifications and should give many years of service.
