Artificial Sucrose Synthesis

Authors:

Abstract

Sucrose (a carbohydrate) is found in various plants parts viz., roots, stems and fruits. The natural source of sucrose is obtained mostly by sugarcane and sugar beets and this sucrose gets converted into refined sugar that we consume. Although sucrose synthesis is majorly been done naturally by process of photosynthesis, there are other artificial ways to obtain it. This review highlights the different ways by which artificial synthesis of sucrose could be done.
