By using the GNSS technology (GPS, GLONASS, …), spatial positions of points in 3D coordinate systems (WGS-84, ETRS-89, …) are determined. As required by their geodetic use, they may or may not be transformed into national planimetric or/and vertical coordinate systems. Afterward, also the quality (or stability) of determined points is assessed separately in them.

Mindezen információk megfelelı megjelenítése illetve multimédia-eszközökkel (hang, 3D, videó…) történı támoga-tása jelentısen segíti az információk feldolgozhatóságát. A GPS helymeghatározás használhatóságának egyik legfontosabb mérıszáma a pontosság. A GPS minimálisan 3m környéki pontatlansága rengeteg alkalmazási lehetıséget kizáró kö-rülmény. Pontosításra mőholdas, aktív és passzív földi eszközrendszert használhatunk. Sze-retném bemutatni a 2007 nyarán telepített Georgikon GNSS (GPS, Glonass) bázisállomás (aktív földi pontosítás) üzembehelyezésének, tesztüzemének tapasztalatait, az eszközrendszer segítségével elért eredményeinket az oktatói, kutatói munkában, a kiépített alternatív hálózat alapvetı jellemzıit és alkalmazási lehetıségeit.

Validation of the GNSS advanced ARAIM algorithm

Estimation of ERP with combined observations of GNSS and SLR

By selecting different number of IGS tracking stations, ERP parameters are estimated from GPS observations and the combined observations of GPS and GLONASS, respectively. A long-term processing for a 14 month period was evaluated, ZTD values from own solutions were compared with those from GOP EPN and IGS. Gained results indicate that combined ZTD processing of GPS + GLONASS data is of a high quality.

Analysis of receiver position error impact on GNSS timing

Inaccurate receiver position information directly influences the timing results for users. The impact of receiver position error on timing is studied in the terms of both theory and experiment. Theoretically, the biggest impact on receiver position error is obtained by differentiating the pseudo-range equation in the first order. To avoid the influence of satellite position error, the precise ... [Show full abstract] satellite positions provided by IGS are used to correct the theoretical results. In experiments, the impact of position error on timing result is also studied by analyzing GPS/GLONASS receiver observation data under the errors in different directions and orders of magnitude. The different situations in the practical scenarios are also analyzed. Experimental results show that the timing accuracy of GPS and GLONASS is less than 5and 15 ns by every increase of 1 arc second latitude error, and timing stability is less than 10 and 15 ns respectively. The timing accuracy of GPS and GLONASS is less than 1 ns for each additional arc second error of longitude, and both less than 10 ns of timing stability. Every increase one meter of elevation error can cause about 3 ns timing error and the influence on timing stability is about 0.3 ns/m. In the practical applications, users can refer to this conclusion for considering input coordinates of timing receivers according to the demand of timing precision.

The current low-cost global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) receiver cannot calculate satisfactory positioning results for pedestrian applications in urban areas with dense buildings due to multipath and non-line-of-sight effects. We develop a rectified positioning method using a basic three-dimensional city building model and ray-tracing simulation to mitigate the signal reflection effects. ... [Show full abstract] This proposed method is achieved by implementing a particle filter to distribute possible position candidates. The likelihood of each candidate is evaluated based on the similarity between the pseudorange measurement and simulated pseudorange of the candidate. Finally, the expectation of all the candidates is the rectified positioning of the proposed map method. The proposed method will serve as one sensor of an integrated system in the future. For this purpose, we successfully define a positioning accuracy based on the distribution of the candidates and their pseudorange similarity. The real data are recorded at an urban canyon environment in the Chiyoda district of Tokyo using a commercial grade u-blox GNSS receiver. Both static and dynamic tests were performed. With the aid of GLONASS and QZSS, it is shown that the proposed method can achieve a 4.4-m 1σ positioning error in the tested urban canyon area.

[Show full abstract] satellites caused by the blockage of skyscrapers also severely degrades the accuracy and availability of the GPS positioning. To solve these problems, a solution that interoperated several Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs) is proposed. However, the actual difficulty of satellite positioning in urban area is the distorted satellite distribution. This paper proposes a GPS with 3D map ray tracing positioning method to conquer the difficulty. The proposed method takes the advantage of the non-LOS (NLOS) and uses it as an additional measurement. Significantly, these measurements are sourced from the satellites that should be blocked. Thus, the dilution of precision (DOP) can be greatly improved. To verify the performance of the proposed method, real data is collected at Tokyo urban area. This paper compares the performance of GPS/GLONASS and the proposed GPS with 3D map ray tracing methods. The results reveals the proposed method is capable of identifying which side of street the pedestrian stands and the GPS+GLONASS method is not.
