Abstract

The fifth edition of the Strategica International Conference, organized by the Faculty of Management from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Romania (SNSPA) in partnership with the National Bank of Romania and in cooperation, since 2016, with the International Association of Knowledge Management, focuses in 2017 (September 28-30) on the dynamics of the contemporary economy influenced by technological development and digital revolution.

The fifth edition of the Strategica International
Conference, organized by the Faculty of
Management from the National University of
Political Studies and Public Administration in
Romania (SNSPA) in partnership with the
National Bank of Romania and in cooperation,
since 2016, with the International Association
of Knowledge Management, focuses in 2017
(September 28-30) on the dynamics of the
contemporary economy influenced by current
social and political factors, as well as by the
technological development and the digital
revolution.

Strategica is a great opportunity for interdisciplinary discussions and debates on the varied suitable ways for businesses, financial
and public institutions, governments and nonprofit organizations to approach the new environmental conditions, to make the most of
their resources and competitive advantages. In this respect, we highly encourage papers on opportunities and constraints related to
major endeavors and experiences related to the complex contemporary economies.
More than 400 academics from over 25 countries and 4 continents are already active in Strategica International Conference
community, after having attended the previous four editions.

Main topics: Economics, Finance and Banking, Business Administration, Management and Leadership, Knowledge
Management; Marketing and Consumer Behavior, and Business Ethics and CSR. We are receptive to a wide range of
perspectives and methods including empirical research, theory development, formal theoretical modeling and experimental methods.
Publishing opportunities
Conference proceedings (e-book with ISBN, edited by a prestigious publishing
house). STRATEGICA 2013, 2014 and 2015 Proceedings are included in
Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI Proceedings). The 2016 edition
proceedings has already been be sent for indexation to ISI (Thomson Reuters);

Selected papers will be published in the international indexed journal
Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy, as well as in other partner
publications.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers
Jerome Créel, Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences-Po) & Observatoire Français des
Conjonctures Economiques (OFCE) Paris, France. ESCP Europe Business School
Keynote speech: “European Union’s imbalances: the sound and the fury”
Jerome Créel is Director of the Research Department at OFCE (Observatoire Français des Conjonctures
Economiques) and Associate professor at ESCP Europe Business School. Holding a PhD in economics
from University Paris-Dauphine, his recent works have dealt with reforms of the Stability and Growth Pact,
published in Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and the relationships between financial stability,
monetary policy and economic performance, published in Economic Modelling and Journal of Financial
Stability. Jerome Creel participates in IAGS reports, in EU funded project FESSUD, and in the OFCE team working as Expert for the
European Parliament Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee for the Monetary Dialogue with the ECB.

Keynote speech: “The challenges of the digital revolution on businesses”
Ian Hipkin teaches Strategic Management at the University of Exeter Business School, United Kingdom
and at Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, Pau, France and is also international consultant in strategy,
operations, and enterprise asset management for many large companies in the UK, the US, Canada,
Europe, the Far East, Russia and Africa. Some of these include: Alcan, BP, Boots, Castrol, China Light
and Power, Corus, De Beers Diamond Mining Company, Dista Products, Dofasco (Canada), Domtar (Canada), Du Pont, Ford,
GlaxoSmithKlein, HJ Heinz, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Iron Ore Company of Canada, Kimberly Clark, Kowloon Canton Railway,
