A Study on Using Hair Cosmetics and Effect of Hair Care Product in Accordance with Hair-type Awareness

Abstract

This study shows hair cosmetic usage and effect of hair care product according to hair-type awareness of the women who were surveyed who are 20s-40s and live downtown in Busan city. Hair appears to be somewhat damaged at all ages, and the older the age, the shorter the hair. The hair is dyed on 20s women, wave-perm on 30s and 40s. At all ages, the effect was an important factor when women purchase hair cosmetics. It showed that people use rinse after shampooing, and use heavily hair essence products at all ages. The hair cosmetic effect is the main factor when people purchase hair cosmetics based on scalp type, hair condition, and hair type. Most people use a rinse, treatment and hair essence products. They do various type of hair care for hair styling and rinse after shampooing along with using hair essence products for hair protection (care) at hair type. It is shown that they recognize the importance of hair care. At the hair shafts observation through an electron microscopy, the cuticles on the hair treatment-treated hairs were less peeling and falling off than those of non hair treatment-treated hairs. As a result, people should acquire accurate information about hair cosmetics for hair care. Also, hair cosmetic companies should provide detailed information so that the public can easily access the information.
