The symposium was sponsored by the CIBA Foundation and held in Paris, France, July 1963. To list the contributors would be to list most of the world authorities on the broad subject of iron metabolism.

[Show full abstract] Bracke (2011) in the Netherlands, Predelli (2004) in Norway, Helbling in Switzerland (2010) and McGinty (2007) in Sweden. Much of this existing literature has focused on the negotiation of Muslim women’s identities in the context of the ‘Western’ world. These include Ali (1992), Knott and Khokher (1993), Afshar (1994), Dwyer (2000), Brown (2002, 2008) and Haw (2010). A primary focus of these studies has been the visibility of Muslim women who wear the hijab or niqab, see, for instance, the studies of Dwyer (2000), Tarlo (2007) and Afshar (2008) among others.
