Evaluation of Agricultural Export Promotion Scheme of APEDA with Special
Reference to Food Processing Industry in Haryana
Abstract
Agricultural exports play a vital role in growth of agricultural gross domestic product (Ohlan,
2013a). India is the world’s second largest producer of food next to China. The total food
production in India is likely to increase significantly in the next decade (GoI, 2016). The
strategic geographic location and proximity to food-importing nations makes India favourable
for the export of processed foods. However, India ranked 12th in the world in exports of food
and food products in 2015-16. This huge gap between production and exports indicates that India
has large untapped potential for exports of processed food products. In order to promote the
exports of processed food products the Government of India established the Agricultural and
Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in 1986. The APEDA
attempts to augment the exports of processed food products thorough implementation of different
schemes thereby contributing to the promotion and maintenance of high levels of employment,
income and to increase development of the productive agricultural resources of India.

The present paper introduces two new parametric generalized exponential measure of fuzzy information with their proof of its validity. The particular case of proposed fuzzy information measure are also studied. Further, some more properties of the proposed information measure between different fuzzy sets are proved.

This chapter introduces and details a generalized methodology for measuring the degree of difference between two fuzzy sets . We present a new parametric generalized exponential measure of fuzzy divergence and study the essential properties of this measure in order to check its authenticity.

In real-life situations, the human thinking style involves subjectivity which introduces vagueness in decision-making . This vagueness or uncertainty is easily handled by fuzzy set theory.

Information theory as a branch of mathematics is novel that worldwide deals with a variety of fields. The term ‘Information’ is concerned with our routine life, like energy, but it is difficult to define in view of the fact that it has no component parts, it can only be measured.
