Verschmelzung von digitalen und analogen Lehr- und Lernformaten
Abstract and Figures
Das Arbeitspapier fokussiert eine neue Form von Lehr- und Lernformaten an Hochschulen, bei denen sog. „analoge“, also herkömmliche Formen des Lernen und Lehren mit digitalen Formen verschmelzen und dabei das Internet sowie die mobilen Geräte der Studierenden genutzt werden. Die Entwicklung kann dabei in zwei Richtungen erfolgen: Bislang rein digitale Lernangebote erfahren Verankerung im Präsenzlehren und -lernen, z.B. wenn Online-Videos in Flipped-Classroom-Arrangements zur Vorbereitung für die Präsenzveran- staltung genutzt werden und die Wissensvertiefung dann in der Präsenzveranstaltung erfolgt. Umgekehrt werden Präsenzveranstaltungen mit digitalen Technologien, z.B. durch die Nutzung von Audience-Response-Systemen mit den Smartphones der Studierenden, zu einem neuartigen Lehrformat erweitert (vgl. Abbildung 1).
Eine Reihe von Fragen werden dem Arbeitspapier vorangestellt, so u.a. nach Beispielen für Lehr- und Lernformate an Hochschulen die eine Vorreiterrolle einnehmen oder nach Angeboten zur Kompetenzentwicklung an Hochschulen.

Reflecting the change in perspective taken in this book, our survey put questions about institutional support, governance, quality assurance or financial issues aside. Moreover, digitization is not only a technical innovation but always a social one as well. This fundamental change of perspective leads to questions such as “What does the learner need?” that universities will have to face in the future. Within the survey, international experts were requested to assess the quantitative success of the different learning pathways, distributing current and future students among the four models. Unsurprisingly, the “new” learning paths were expected to become more important, although the actual prospective importance of these learning paths will depend on the supply and demand for academic studies, allowing decision-makers to rethink the educational designs based on the AHEAD modeling.

As the digital transformation clearly highlights the role of universities and institutes of higher education in shaping a higher education system that is more open and provides education to everyone who can benefit from it, this study seeks to analyze, in more detail, what developments are having an impact on higher education and develops future scenarios for education in 2030. The UK study Solving future skills challenges implies that the linear model of education–employment–career will no longer be sufficient in the future, requiring new combinations of skills, experience, and collaboration from educators and employers. This UK study serves as a starting point for the AHEAD trend analysis for a higher education landscape in 2030. Five premises ranging from “No naive innovation view” to “Realistic approach,” and “Diversity in higher education” provide the basis for a search for concepts for the higher education of the future.

This chapter provides four models of higher education for the year 2030, namely the Tamagotchi, Jenga, Lego Set, and Transformer models. The Tamagotchi model represents the classic approach to higher education, starting right after secondary school and leading up to a bachelor’s or master’s degree and then transitioning into employment, finishing the path of higher education. The Jenga model, while similar to Tamagotchi, appeals to nontraditional students because of its shorter learning span and focuses on later phases of self-learning and -organization. The Lego Set model is fittingly named after the individually combined modules of different sizes, making for a self-reliant and non-standardized learning path rather than one compact unit. The Transformer model represents learners whose initial phase of education may have long passed, but who return to higher education to acquire new basic knowledge or upskill their formal education. It relies on the idea that everyone must have opportunities to leave their current professional paths and change course.

After examining the current developments in the field of knowledge and competence requirements, university teaching and technology, and their effects on a digital society through various background studies, this chapter focuses on modeling and developing different scenarios and discussions with regard to technology and social developments. Different economic and social requirements as well as new forms of didactics and learning environments will lead to necessary changes in higher education. It should provide a link between continuing and higher education by identifying new ways of recognizing skills acquired informally. Strong support most notably for new students, should combine performing, developing, and explorative teaching and learning situations. Meanwhile, it will be essential for the didactics of the future to be sensitive to the needs of learners and offer individualized support for student-learning paths, making education independent of time and place. Finally, selected approaches to developing future scenarios in higher education focusing on institutions and governance issues, technology, and social developments are discussed in more detail.

Mobile Learning ist ein durch mobile Infrastrukturen, Anwendungen und Geräte gestützte, jederzeit „unterwegs“ und on demand verfügbares Lernformat, das in verschiedenen Lehr-Lern-Kontexten Anwendung findet. Es ermöglicht außerdem kollaboratives Lernen und Feedback mittels einer angebundenen Online-Community. Abzugrenzen ist sie aufgrund vorgegebener Lernumgebungen von der alltäglichen Nutzung mobiler Geräte. Kompetenzen können in diesen Lernumgebungen sowohl ortsunabhängig als auch situiert ortsbezogen, z. B. an historischen Schauplätzen und Bauwerken oder im Rahmen von Exkursionen, erworben werden. Technologien, die zum mobilen Lernen eingesetzt werden, reichen von Laptops und Tablet-Rechnern über Smartphones bis hin zu sogenannten Wearables (z. B. Virtual-Reality-Brillen). Dieses Kapitel vermittelt einen Überblick zu den verschiedenen Formen, Einsatzmöglichkeiten, Potenzialen und Bedingungen mobilen Lernens.

Lehrende untereinander tauschen sich noch zu selten mit anderen Lehrenden aus und geben ihre Unterlagen weiter. Gerade für Standard-Lehrveranstaltungen wie die „Einführung in die Wirtschaftsinformatik“ ist dies jedoch wünschenswert. Dieser Beitrag bietet einen ersten Diskussionsbeitrag für eine mögliche digitale Plattform für Lehrende, die veränderte Verhaltenseinstellungen zum Lehren und Lernen durch digitale und vernetzte Technologien abbildet und damit die Forderungen einer digitalen Bildung unterstützt. Der Entwurf und die prototypische Umsetzung einer digitalen Plattform für Lehrende im genannten Fachgebiet beleuchten diesen erforderlichen Wandel.
Die starke Verbreitung mobiler Endgeräte unter Studierenden und die weitreichenden technischen Möglichkeiten, die diese Geräte aufweisen, begünstigen die Nutzung mobiler Lernszenarien an den Hochschulen. Anknüpfend an frühere Ansätze der Systematisierung mobilen Lernens werden in diesem Beitrag unterschiedliche Szenarien für mobiles Lernen in formalisierten sowie informellen Lernkontexten im tertiären Bildungsbereich vorgestellt. Die jeweiligen Szenarien werden im Hinblick auf Stärken – wie relativ günstige technische Voraussetzungen für mobiles Lernen an Hochschulen –, Schwächen – wie Akzeptanzdefizite bei Studierenden, die neue Elemente zurückhaltend in die persönliche Lernumgebung integrieren –, Chancen – darunter das Nutzen von Umgebungsinformationen – sowie Risiken – darunter Lerndefizite aufgrund der begrenzten Eignung mobilen Lernens für das Erfassen komplexer Zusammenhänge – untersucht.
Dieser Beitrag geht von der Annahme aus, dass das Social Web Potenziale für ein partizipatives Lernen mit sich bringt. Zugleich setzt er sich mit der damit einhergehenden Problematik auseinander, dass mit dem Einsatz von Social Software ein tatsächliches partizipatives Lernen, das auf Freiwilligkeit basiert, in formalen Lehr- und Lernprozessen systembedingt nur begrenzt realisiert werden kann. Partizipation in formalen Bildungskontexten kann insofern immer nur eine von den Lehrpersonen bei der Gestaltung von Lernumgebungen bewusst ermöglichte und somit letztlich eine Form «verordneter Partizipation» sein. Dieser (medien-)pädagogische Widerspruch kann in institutionellen Bildungskontexten wie der Schule nie vollständig gelöst werden, wohl aber können adäquate Handlungsoptionen entwickelt werden. In diesem Sinne stellt der Beitrag ein Stufenmodell vor, das einen differenzierten Umgang mit den Grenzen und Möglichkeiten von Social Software beim Lehren und Lernen erlaubt. Es kann Lehrende bei der Planung und Analyse von (vermeintlich) partizipativen Lehr- und Lernprozessen darin unterstützen, die mediendidaktischen Bedingungen für eine (Nicht-)Partizipation klarer zu bestimmen und entsprechende Massnahmen zu ergreifen.
An den österreichischen Hochschulen kommen Bildungstechnologien seit nunmehr über einem Jahrzehnt zum Einsatz. Das Ausmaß und die mit dem Einsatz von E-Learning bzw. Blended Learning verbundenen Erfahrungen sind unterschiedlich ausgeprägt, jedoch allgemein von rasantem Wachstum gekennzeichnet. Eine möglichst vollständige Bestandserfassung der augenscheinlich heterogenen E-Learning-Landschaft des gesamten tertiären Bildungssektors hat hierzulande bislang noch nicht stattgefunden. Die Erfassung des Status quo hinsichtlich Strategie, Ressourcen, Organisation und Erfahrungen liefert eine Grundlage, die für bildungs- und wirtschaftspolitische Maßnahmen auf dem Gebiet der technologiegestützten Lehre für das gesamte Bildungswesen unerlässlich ist. Das Forum neue Medien in der Lehre Austria (fnm-a) ist als landesweites hochschulübergreifendes E-Learning-Netzwerk prädestiniert, eine Studie zur Sachverhaltsdarstellung durchzuführen.
Im Zentrum dieses Buches steht die Fragestellung, wie forschendes Lernen angesichts eines sich beschleunigenden medialen Wandels und dem Phänomen der Globalisierung angemessen verstanden und eingesetzt werden kann.
Es werden erkenntnistheoretische Thesen entfaltet, bildungs- sowie medientheoretische Positionen in Bezug auf das forschende Lernen diskutiert, methodische Fragestellungen anwendungsorientiert erörtert sowie Good Practice-Beispiele vorgestellt.

Die Zielgruppen
Das Buch richtet sich an alle, die sich mit pädagogischer Praxis auseinandersetzen und diese unter Perspektiven des forschenden Lernens thematisieren möchten – von Studierenden und Hochschuldozent_innen über Didaktiker_innen und Lehrer_innen bis hin zu interessierten Laien.
