The close semantic relationship between depictive and adverbial adjuncts in Gregorian manifests itself in substantial variation in the use of the two construction types, both within and between dialects. This relationship is also demonstrated by the fact that adjuncts of the two types can be coordinated, and that the same interrogative marker can be used with both. This chapter explains this overlap between adverbial and depictive property predicated of a participant and characteristics of the event itself. © editorial matter and organization Nikolaus P.
