(Editorial) Publishing in the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education: Recommendations and strategies based upon 2015 journal submission data

Authors:

Abstract

The Journal of Technology and Teacher Education is one of the leading journals that publishes empirical and theoretical work at the intersection of technology and teacher education. JTATE traditionally has a very low acceptance rate (~6-9%), leading many potential authors to seek deeper insight on a more successful review process. Readers can learn a lot about a journal based on what is published; this editorial explores data from manuscripts that were published as well as those that were rejected. Results suggest rejected and accepted papers differ in their: a) scope; b) research depth; c) use of literature; d) inclusion of data; and, e) depth and breadth of discussion and implications. The editorial ends with a review of topics submitted in 2015 compared to current topics in technology and teacher education.
