Abstract

This paper analyses the impact of the selected parameters: operating mode, design parameters and condition of power transmission system onto the dynamic load of some on its components. Apart from analytical considerations, we also offer the experimental results related to the influence of the operating mode parameters and the condition of power transmission train system onto the torque of a passenger’s car axle-shaft. On the basis of the theoretical and experimental research, we drew some conclusions related to the impact of some parameters on the power transmission load. Furthermore, we have given the comparative study of the used models and researching methods.

... At the appearance of the first four-wheeled road vehicles, there was a problem of power transmission from the drive machine to the wheels [1]. When a vehicle is moving over a curved path, the outside wheel must cross more distance at the same time as the inner wheel. ...

In this paper, the design and calculation of planetary transmission with bevel gears for road vehicles is presented. It must transfer power to the wheels with the possibility that wheels can rotate at different speeds. The basic calculation of transmission is performed for the drive machine, where an internal combustion engine is chosen, and for the driven machine, which is a car, all forces of resistance are calculated so that the transmission needs to be overcome to move the car. Based on the standard ISO 23509:2016 norm, the calculation of geometry is performed for the input gear pair and it is defined as a hypoid gear pair. For the planetary transmission, a calculation of gear module for bevel gears is first performed, and after that, the geometry is calculated. The calculation of the stress for root stress and Hertz contact pressure is performed for all bevel gears in transmission.

This paper presents an implemented idea for gear shifting optimization with the aim of fuel consumption minimization. A new combined theoretical and experimental approach has been developed using the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) technology which so far has not been used for this purpose. A matrix of driving modes according to which tests were performed is obtained and a special data acquisition system and analysis process have been developed. Functional relations between experimental test modes and adequate OBD parameters have been obtained and all necessary operations have been conducted to enable their use as inputs for the designed algorithm. The created model has been tested in real exploitation conditions on a passenger car.

Many studies have proved that elements of driver's behavior related to gear selec-tion have considerable influence on the fuel consumption. Optimal gear shifting is a complex task, especially for inexperienced drivers. This paper presents an imple-mented idea for gear shifting optimization with the aim of fuel consumption minimization with more efficient engine working regimes. Optimized gear shifting enables the best possible relation between vehicle motion regimes and engine work-ing regimes. New theoretical-experimental approach has been developed using on-board diagnostic technology which so far has not been used for this purpose. The matrix of driving modes according to which tests were performed is obtained and special data acquisition system and analysis process have been developed. Functional relations between experimental test modes and adequate engine work-ing parameters have been obtained and all necessary operations have been con-ducted to enable their use as inputs for the designed algorithm. The created model has been tested in real exploitation conditions on passenger car with Otto fuel in-jection engine and on-board diagnostic connection without any changes on it. The conducted tests have shown that the presented model has significantly positive ef-fects on fuel consumption which is an important ecological aspect. Further devel-opment and testing of the model allows implementation in wide range of motor ve-hicles with various types of internal combustion engines.

The swinging of the payload is one of the most important contributors to the dynamic loading of cranes. Faster transport of the payload brings up increased swinging, larger dynamic forces, and bigger control issues. That is the reason which makes the investigation of this phenomenon an increasingly actual theme. In the paper, the horizontal inertial forces imparted by the load in the case of the linear motion of the pivot are studied by means of an appropriate mathematical model. The diagram of the factor of the horizontal inertial forces of a swinging payload mass for different conditions of operation is determined. The developed curves are compared with standard curves. It is found out that in some of the cases the standard curves are not conservative.
Book
This book gives a full account of the development process for automotive transmissions. Main topics: - Overview of the traffic - vehicle - transmission system - Mediating the power flow in vehicles - Selecting the ratios - Vehicle transmission systems - basic design principles - Typical designs of vehicle transmissions - Layout and design of important components, e.g. gearshifting mechanisms, moving-off elements, pumps, retarders - Transmission control units - Product development process, Manufacturing technology of vehicle transmissions, Reliability and testing The book covers manual, automated manual and automatic transmissions as well as continuously variable transmissions and hybrid drives for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Furthermore, final drives, power take-offs and transfer gearboxes for 4-WD-vehicles are considered. Since the release of the first edition in 1999 there have been a lot of changes in the field of vehicles and transmissions. About 40% of the second edition's content is new or revised with new data.

Electric drive elevators represent a special group of transport machines for vertical lifting of a load with stressed dynamic features. Special attention should be paid to the behaviour of these devices in exploitation, as early as in the projecting phase. The paper shows the process of forming adequate mechanical models for elevators grouped according to their features, and with this an analysis can be performed of the influence of certain parameters on their behaviour in operation. Based on the formed elevator models, simulations have been performed, and the obtained results are graphically shown through diagrams, with varying dynamic parameters (drive characteristics, velocity and acceleration, the height of lifting, rated load and the weight of the cabin, mechanical characteristics of the rope...) with the conclusions on their influence on elevator behaviour.

This paper deals with a non-linear mathematical model for simulation and analysis of a dynamic behaviour of a rotor-bearing system. The model is used for the simulation of plane motion of a centre of rotor's cross-section which makes the model convenient for the analysis of vibrations generated in a rolling bearing as well as for the analysis of accuracy of the revolution of rotor supported on a rolling bearing. The model takes into account the following quantities: internal radial clearance, external radial load and unbalanced load. Differential equations of a motion are derived using Lagrange's equations. The contacts between the balls and the rings are considered to be non-linear with a stiffness derived by the Hertzian theory of an elastic contact. The proposed model enables direct determination of local contact deformations which significantly reduces needed computations and CPU time. The results obtained by the model are used to reconstruct phase-space trajectories and Poincare maps and to calculate the largest Lyapunov exponent in order to establish the stability of rotor-bearing system motion. A computer program is developed based on the mathematical model for the simulation and analysis of a dynamic behaviour of a rotor-bearing system.
