From the analysis of the short story A caolha, written by Julia Lopes de Almeida, we examine the construction of the female body connected to its socio-cultural integration within the limits set by the dominant patriarchal system in its context. Discussing the limits of the borders opened by the construction of an abject body, within the discourse of the author, we analyse the edges of representation within a political perspective of gender.
