Abstract

This conclusion offers a short assessment of the life of Sir Philip Gibbs and assesses his place in the history of war journalism. It offers a more nuanced understanding of the work of war correspondents and looks to place the book in the context of further scholarship regarding the role of the media, censorship, government/press relations, and the social and political situation in Europe 1902–1962.
