Writers today have two options when seeking publication: the traditional route through established print publishers or electronically publishing in digitized formats. If marketing a novel manuscript the traditional way, writers should consider obtaining representation from a reputable literary agent. If seeking the digitized route, writers can work with companies that specialize in digitized publishing or choose self-publication either on established platforms such as Kindle, Nook, Kobo, or iTunes or through an independent author Web site.

Novel ROADM modelling with WSS and OBS to improve routing performance in optical network

The proposed solution presents some potential principle that is incorporated in the ROADM design for enhancing the capabilities of the proposed system. The system is evaluated under multiple scenarios of analysis using blocking probabilities, OSNR, bit error rate, iteration etc. The outcome of the proposed system is compared with the one of the existing significant study to benchmark it. [Show full abstract] proposed approach not all wire information of the whole schematic is exchanged. Only information of routing segments, installation locations and breakouts will be exchanged. Using a 2D representation of the vehicle structure to describe the whole routing structure in the wiring design process, the packaging department will map this structure into 3D using appropriate elements. The cross sections of the cable bundles in the routing segments will be calculated in 2D (ECAD), the lengths of the routing segments will be calculated in 3D (MCAD). Today, the existing interface between the two systems is file-based, but will be changed to a data base-based interface using the STEP exchange format. The proposed integration is being used in a series development project for the first time now.

The algorithm reduces the problem to the minimum-weight balanced-separator problem; the performance guarantee of the algorithm is within a factor of 4 of the performance guarantee of the balanced-separator procedure. If Leighton and Rao's balanced-separator procedure is used, the performance guarantee is O(log n). This improves the O(log2n) approximation factor obtained by a direct application of the balanced-separator method.

Johannes Vingboons's much-copied watercolours (c.1650s) of Mexico City, Acapulco and Veracruz, based on drawings by Juan Gomez de Trasmonte and Adrian (Adriaan) Boot made in New Spain before 1628, are considered accurate depictions of these cities in the early seventeenth century. No one has found the originals, however, nor has the route by which they reached the Netherlands at a time when the ... [Show full abstract] Spanish and the Dutch were at war been satisfactorily explained. We re-examine these early European representations of New World cities and consider their sources, purpose and historical context. Our arguments are based on a fresh analysis of the topographical content of the watercolours themselves and of the secondary sources, and we take into consideration new historical evidence about Trasmonte, Boot and Vingboons as well as the cities depicted. We also describe a hitherto unknown set of the Vingboons manuscripts depicting the three Mexican cities.

Based on the traditional algorithm, this paper puts forward an algorithm with real-time analysis of escaping and water bursting processes. It analyzes water bursting range in real time according to the time of passing through each roadway on a path, and then finds an optimal escape path which is most secure and least time-consuming through comparison. The experiments show that the algorithmis able to find the optimal escape path more effectively compared with other algorithms.

It is argued that the use of fuzzy set theory will generally provide models of better proximity to the systems modelled than the traditional approaches. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by a numerical example.
