Abstract

Availability: Class of bony fishes (Osteichthyes) represents the largest group of vertebrates both in number of species (more than 20,000) and in number of individuals. The crucian is a common freshwater fish widely distributed through Europe from England to Russia and it is a heavily farmed fish worldwide. Fresh specimens can be purchased from local fish markets.
