A History of the Arctic Hydrological Region of Alaska
This study reviews the general historical development of the Arctic region of Alaska. It was prepared as part of the State of Alaska's navigability project to assist the state, federal government and Native corporations determine the ownership of submerged lands in the Alaskan Arctic. This study accompanies the Water Body Specific Data report for the Arctic region. Sources used in the preparations of this study include the Arctic file compiled by Louis Berger & Associates as part of their contract to gather water body use data for the state, as well as research at Anchorage libraries (University of Alaska, AEIDC, Alaska Resources Library). No oral interviews or questionnaires were utilized in the preparation of this history.
