Closed-shell interaction in the tetranuclear cluster As4 in Cu6Hg3As4S12 crystal

Density functional theory (DFT) and ELF and AIM methods were used to study closed-shell interactions between As3+ ions in the tetrahedral cluster As4 in the aktashite mineral Cu6Hg3As4S12. The vibronic interaction in [AsS3]3− molecular ions is shown to be responsible for the pyramidal structure and for the transition of As3+ lone-pair 4s2 to the mixed state 4s4p. The reaction of Cp2Zr(4-F-o -tolyl)(CD2Cl2)(+) (A) with 2-butyne at -85 degrees C in CD2Cl2 proceeds by reversible formation of the alkyne complex Cp2Zr(4-F-o -tolyl)(2-butyne)(+)(C), followed by rate limiting insertion to produce Cp2Zr{CMe=CMe(4-F-o -tolyl)}(+)(D). The Stability Constants for the 18Crown6 Complexes with (2.2)Metacyclophanediazonium Salts

Synopsis. Transannular interaction between two aromatic rings in [2.2]metacyclophanes was estimated by the determination of the stability constants (K-s) for 18-crown-6 complexes with their diazonium salts. It was found out that the K-s is about 10 times as small as that for the corresponding benzenediazonium salt.

The stability of flows near two critical points (in parameter space) at which Couette flow looses stability simultaneously to two non-axisymmetric wavenumbers has been studied experimentally. The findings are compared with the theoretical predictions of [Chossat et al., 1987], hereafter cited as CDI. In the case of the first critical point, resulting from the interaction of azimuthal wavenumbers ... [Show full abstract] m = 1 and m = 2, some quantitative disagreements with predictions were observed. The second point, resulting from the interaction between m = 2 and m = 3, was found at a slightly different location than that predicted by the theory. A transition to a seemingly chaotic regime was observed in addition to the transitions predicted by CDI. Experiments also show a nonperiodic amplitude variation of the velocity signal and a first transition to a doubly-periodic flow.
