Abstract

The factors considered when designing a world-class research facility by engineers are discussed. Specialized research lighting as well as generator and uninterruptable power supplies must be considered. Engineers must also address electrical interference, reliability and redundancy levels while designing. Scientists can focus their attention on research, when design engineers provide the appropriate amount of electrical power where it's needed and effectively manage interruptions.
