The changes of the net product structure of the automotive supply chain require innovative ways of co-operation of small and medium-sized enterprises. The systematic connection of strategic networks and economic successful co-operation represents a particular challenge. On the basis of an extensive empirical research of success factors of co-operation projects in the Saxony automotive supplier industry the authors show a new organization methodology for developing interbusiness co-operation. The main point of the methodology is the systematic integration of surroundings' factors into the structure and operation of co-operation projects.
