Az újkori külföldi magyar egyetemjárás adattárának összegyűjtése és kiadása = Assembling and Publish...

A kutatás 4 éve alatt két egyetemi város (Bécs 1867-1890) és Graz (1867-1918) , valamint a Brünni Műegyetem kivételével teljes egészében befejeztük az európai újkori egyetemjárás adattárának készítését. A munka természetesen nemcsak az elmúlt 4 évben, hanem az azt megelőző évtizedben is folyt, és jelenleg mintegy 85000 külföldi beiratkozást regisztráltunk, amelyeket egységes elektronikus ... [Show full abstract] adatbázisba vittünk. A fent említett hiányok pótlása folyamatban van, tehát remélhető, hogy 2007 folyamán a francia nyelvterület kivételével teljessé válik a magyarországi egyetemjárás 1526 és 1919 közötti adatainak feltárása. A francia és belga egyetemekre járt magyarok kutatásához tekintettel a teljesen más forrástípusokra, az eddigiektől eltérő módszert kell alkalmazni, és komoly helyszini kutatást végezni, amelynek érdekében új OTKA pályázatot kívánok benyújtani. A beiratkozókról esetenként 10-10 adat áll rendelkezésre, ezekből ''A magyarországi diákok egyetemjárása az újkorban'' című sorozatunkban eddig 14 kötetet jelentettünk meg, és további 6 van előkészületben. Ezek felsorolását mellékelten nyújtom be. A fenti nagyon konkrét ereddményeken kívül mintegy 12 nemzetközi konferencián tájékoztattuk a résztvevőket kutatásaink eredményeiről, többek között Svájcban, Németországban, Ausztriában, Ukrajnában, Romániában, Dániában és Olaszországban. Köteteinket több külföldi szaklapban ismertették illetve előadásaink konferenci kötetekben jelentek meg. | During the four years of research ? except for the universities of Vienna (1867-1890) and Graz (1867-1918) ? we have successfully completed the repertory of Hungarian university peregrination to Europe at the early modern period. The work was being done not only during the past for years, but also in the preceding decade, so as a result we have recorded 85,000 registrations, all of which are processed into an electronic database. Quest after Hungarian students at the universities of France and Belgium requires a completely new method and a deeper local research, for the aim of which I would like to apply for another OTKA-support with a new project. Eventually there are 10 items available for each registrated student in our database, on the basis of which we have already published 14 volumes as parts of our series Hungarian peregrination to foreign Universities in Modern Times?, and there are six more volumes in preparation for the future, a list of which is attached. Beside these concrete results we presented papers at 12 different international conferences, e.g. in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Romania, Denmark and Italy. The published volumes were reviewed in several international journals and the papers given were published in the acts of the conferences we had participated in.

It was Jaeger, indeed, who chose Bea, among the many consultors of the Holy Office, as a contact men for ecumenical questions to be submitted to the Holy See, putting him at the crossroads of a network of contacts and relationships which involved also the ecumenical circles in Switzerland, Austria and Holland. The correspondence between the two men takes place since 1951 and its reconstruction permits to study the evolution of the ecumenical thought of the Jesuit and his attitude towards the question of individual conversions, the activities of the movement Una Sancta and the evolution of the World Council of Churches.

It covers 348.6 thousand of square kilometers and has a population of 81.80 million. Its GDP reaches $3,600.83 billion in 2011. Through the index system and evaluation model, the environment competitiveness index of Germany ranks at 2 in 133 countries.

Pillarization and functional differentiation. On the evolution of catholic life forms.

Since the end of the 1950s, pillarization has become a core concept in research about societal developments in a few small European countries, notably Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Switserland. The concept is used to refer to an internal differentiation of their resp. populations, typically understood as a wholesale division of these countries into blocs of different religious and ... [Show full abstract] political persuasions, effectively isolated from each other by innumerable institutions and organizations exclusively serving members of their own community (viz. catholics, protestants, liberals, socialists). While focusing on catholic pillar formation, this article indicates that the pillars primarily did not have to struggle against the other pillars, but against the pattern of functional differentiation which characterizes modern society. Pillarization was and is a secondary principle of social differentiation, whose possibilities were determined by the logic of the different functional subsystems. The ideological movements were able to parasitize on professional relations of educational, psychological, relational or medical care; their success was Limited to the functional subsystems whose operations are dependent on face-to-face contact between professional and client, on the personal commitment of the role-inhabitants. This also explains why religious "virtuoso's" (Weber), and especially the numerous active congregations of brothers and sisters, were able to play such a prominent role in the catholic pillar.

History Repeating: Spain Beats Germany in the EURO 2012 Final

Four years after the last European football championship (EURO) in Austria and Switzerland, the two finalists of the EURO 2008 - Spain and Germany - are again the clear favorites for the EURO 2012 in Poland and the Ukraine. Using a bookmaker consensus rating - obtained by aggregating winning odds from 23 online bookmakers - the forecast winning probability for Spain is 25.8% followed by Germany ... [Show full abstract] with 22.2%, while all other competitors have much lower winning probabilities (The Netherlands are in third place with a predicted 11.3%). Furthermore, by complementing the bookmaker consensus results with simulations of the whole tournament, we can infer that the probability for a rematch between Spain and Germany in the final is 8.9% with the odds just slightly in favor of Spain for prevailing again in such a final (with a winning probability of 52.9%). Thus, one can conclude that - based on bookmakers' expectations - it seems most likely that history repeats itself and Spain defends its European championship title against Germany. However, this outcome is by no means certain and many other courses of the tournament are not unlikely as will be presented here. All forecasts are the result of an aggregation of quoted winning odds for each team in the EURO 2012: These are first adjusted for profit margins ("overrounds"), averaged on the log-odds scale, and then transformed back to winning probabilities. Moreover, team abilities (or strengths) are approximated by an "inverse" procedure of tournament simulations, yielding estimates of all pairwise probabilities (for matches between each pair of teams) as well as probabilities to proceed to the various stages of the tournament. This technique correctly predicted the EURO 2008 final (Leitner, Zeileis, Hornik 2008), with better results than other rating/forecast methods (Leitner, Zeileis, Hornik 2010a), and correctly predicted Spain as the 2010 FIFA World Champion (Leitner, Zeileis, Hornik 2010b). Compared to the EURO 2008 forecasts, there are many parallels but two notable differences: First, the gap between Spain/Germany and all remaining teams is much larger. Second, the odds for the predicted final were slightly in favor of Germany in 2008 whereas this year the situation is reversed.

To gain mew insights into their union formation patterns, the four empirical chapters of this study answer the following questions: A. What union formation patterns are observed among the Turkish second generation? How do these patterns differ from those of other ethnic groups? How do these patterns differ between second-generation Turks in different European countries? B. How can we explain the union formation patterns of the Turkish second generation? In particular, what is the role of third parties and the institutional context?
