Abstract

The use of ultra voilet (UV) and electron beam (EB) inks to increase the productivity and to reduce the volatile organic compounds (VOC) was discussed. A printer can use hybrid ink on a conventional press using conventional/UV hybrid technology. The hybrid inks give printers the ability to wet wrap over lithographic inks to achieve a high gloss. In addition to wet wrapping, hybrids also allow the printers to save energy as they do not require lamps at every station.
