Improving transportation nodes at stations-from the perspective of passenger services

Abstract

To prepare for the advancing aging society, the Hiroshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd. strives at becoming a "company friendly to users and to the environment." Now in the third year of our "3S Action Plan," we have made progress in improving facilities and operations to make our services more appealing to customers. For the facilities, we have introduced a super low-floor light rail vehicle and successfully developed the nation's first completely super low-floor light rail vehicle, which was put into operations on March 30, 2005. In addition to making our stations accessible to the elderly and physically challenged passengers, we also work at Improving transportation nodes to facilitate through traffic with other transport modes. For the operations, we continue to enhance the quality of our staff through training and improve operation efficiency to gain the trust of customers.
