This chapter discusses how multimodality became more established during the years 2006 to 2011; it explicates not only who published ground-breaking research during these fruitful years, but also, and for this chapter more importantly, scrutinises which publishers and which academic journals published work in the blossoming area of multimodality. As researchers are pushing the field forward, publishers and journal editors impact dissemination. Only by looking at both sides, namely at the side of authors who write innovative articles and at the same time at the side of publishers and editors who publish this novel work, can we determine how the latest developments in academia progress.
