Investigated 72 5-, 7-, and 10-yr-old children's understanding of nonverbal metaphoric similarity and the effect of this knowledge on figurative language production and comprehension. There were 2 sets of materials, triads of filmed scenes for the metaphor production phase, and stories to be recalled for the text comprehension phase.
