Abstract

This chapter presents an interview with film director Arnaud Desplechin, who discusses films by director François Truffaut. Desplechin discusses Truffaut's structuralism, themes of social outcasts, French cinema versus Hollywood, scripts, voice-over, music, innocence and simplicity of melodrama.
