Abstract

The present paper deals with thirteen species of the genus Clubiona from Inner Mongolia, China. Four new species are described: C. falcate sp. nov., C. haupti sp. nov., C. qini sp. nov., and C. semicircularis sp. nov. Six species are newly recorded from Inner Mongolia: C. interjecta L. Koch, 1870; C. irinae Mikhailov, 1991; C. neglecta O. P.-Cambridge, 1862; C. odesanensis Paik, 1990; C. papillata Schenkel, 1936; and C. phragmitis C. L. Koch, 1843. The specimen previously identified in the region as C. hedini Schenkel, 1936 is assigned to C. jucunda (Karsch 1879). C. xilinensis Yin, Yan, Gong & Kim, 1996 is newly synonymized with C. riparia (L. Koch 1866). A redescription is made for C. japonicola Boesenberg & Strand, 1906, which has been reported briefly but has not been illustrated in the region previously. A key to all of these species is presented.

... After that, only one additional species was described from Far East Russia by Mikhailov (2003), C. sichotanica Mikhailov, 2003. Until now, only one species has been recorded from China: C. interjecta L. Koch, 1879Song et al. 1999;Tang et al. 2005;World Spider Catalog 2022). While examining spiders collected from Jiugong Mountain Nature Reserve of China, we came across some specimens from the Clubiona reclusa-group, which are described here as belonging to a new species: Clubiona qianlei sp. ...
... For the map in Fig. 6, locality coordinates for C. interjecta are copied from the original publications (See Tang et al. 2005: 80) or originated from Arcgis. Due to lack of locality coordinates and specific locations in previous reports by Song et al. (1999), Tang et al. (2005) and , the distribution records of C. interjecta in Jilin and Heilongjiang Provinces were not marked. ...

The representation of the Clubiona reclusa species-group in China is here established in two species: Clubiona qianlei sp. nov. from Central China and C. interjecta L. Koch, 1879, which is mainly distributed in northern China. Detailed description, diagnosis, photographs of the new species are given. DNA barcodes (a partial fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene, COI) of the new species were obtained to confirm matching of the sexes and for future use in molecular studies. Supplementary micrographs of C. interjecta are provided for the first time, alongside an emended diagnosis, to demonstrate the validity of C. qianlei sp. nov.. A distribution map of the reclusa group species in China is given.
