The EU clinical trial regulation: Are we ready for its implementation?

The new EU Clinical Trial Regulation1 was adopted on 16 April 2014 and published in the Official Journal on 27 May 2014. It will replace the current EC Directive 2001/20, which has governed clinical trials in the EU for the past ten years or so. While for the most part this change is welcomed by industry, there are still some ambiguities and uncertainties surrounding aspects of the new Regulation. This article offers an industry viewpoint of perceived potential problems, and raises questions that may need clarification prior to implementation. © 2015 The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs.

Using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to address uncertainty in hierarchical decision-making, this paper determines SM priority strategies and eventually identifies even lower level strategies. The computed sustainable manufacturing index is presented at both the organizational and operational levels for a real case study of an industrial plastic manufacturing firm. This work provides a detailed and transparent hierarchical decision-making approach based on SM framework, the use of which could be valuable to practicing managers across industries in their pursuit of greater sustainability.

With respect to organizational identification, NGO managers expressed pride in their organization, frustration regarding public ignorance about their organization, and broader connection with NGO identity. [Show full abstract] certainty/uncertainty, transparency/opacity, and participation/restriction highlight that NGO managers identify more closely with their organization when it adheres to mission objectives and encourages stakeholder inclusivity, and less closely when their organization loses identity in the renaming process, or when there is less perceived transparency and inclusion. Findings suggest that NGO managers and organizational researchers may benefit from further investigation into renaming campaigns in light of NGO mission, as well as the resulting stakeholder identity implications.

[Show full abstract] international level. Their pro-active investment in new international policy spaces is hence highly warranted. The enhanced participation of the private sector in the multilateral climate regime, however, faces many challenges that will have to be overcome. Lessons on how to achieve an effective involvement may be drawn in particular from the Montreal Protocol on ozone-depleting substances, the World Trade Organization, the European Union and the Asian Pacific Partnership. A preliminary condition for an effective dialogue with business and industry stakeholders is a transparent process. Moreover, systematic consultations with stakeholders should be held, allowing a regular exchange of information and the effective channelling of the expertise of the private sector into the negotiation process.

The findings of the research presented in this paper are part of the primary research findings collected within ERASMUS+ project conducted on the sample of 240 examinees. Further, there is a lack of a structured and systematic form in which IT-mediated interruptions can be classified and there is uncertainty regarding their boundary conditions and consequences. This article presents the results of a systematic literature review (SLR) on IT-mediated interruptions across varies disciplines. Reviewing identified 55 studies in leading journals and conferences, this article further synthesizes the various and fragmented findings on IT-mediated interruptions into an integrative theoretical framework along their boundary conditions, causes, manifestations, and consequences. Theoretically, our framework may serve as a foundational step to incorporate a broader theoretical perspective to integrate concepts and findings across literature. Practically, our integrative theoretical framework can be used as a reference guide for designing IT-mediated interruptions to achieve optimal user experience.
