Investigations of yeasts isolated from 126 water samples show the occurrence o f 16 different species. Two small fish-ponds were sampled twice, in summer and autumn, respectively. The most prevalent species were Aureobasidium pullulans , Sporobolomyces roseus , Hansenula anomala , Hyphopichia burtonii , Leucosporidium scottii , Bullera alba and Candida sp., mainly Candida krusei .
