Faunistic data are given on 76 Iberobalearican species of the family Noctuidae (Lepidoptera) present in the Josep Muñoz collection, which covers a total of ten Spanish provinces. Special mention deserve those data dealing with the province of Badajoz, in the Extremadura region of Spain, whose lepidopterological fauna is very poorly known; 33 noctuid species are recorded from this province.
Adelfotipic material of Xanthorhoe iberica (Staudinger, 1901) was analyzed and compared to material of Xanthorhoe montanata ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) from other parts of Europe, resulting in the conclusion that we are dealing with two distinct species.
En este trabajo se presentan nuevos datos sobre la fauna de Macroheterocera de la provincia de Cáceres, España: 340 especies amplían su distribución geográfica conocida y 53 se citan por primera vez para la zona estudiada.
