EXPERIENCES WITH AGED PEOPLE AND CHILDREN IN A PUBLIC LIBRARY: GOOD, PRETTY AND CHEAP

Abstract

On this text we are going to describe mainly two activities with numerous objectives which they carry out in a small Public Library and which they have the essential complicity of two sectors of our community population: aged and children. These two activities arised from a library priority which was bring the two different sectors to the libraries, with this original idea, two schemes are pointed to other objectives like a Library Promotion, The Interest in Reading, the Impulse of Relationship Between Different Generations, to Form an Oral Culture on Documents for the Local Collection and the Diminution of Violence at Schools. The results have been excellent En este texto vamos a describir principalmente dos actividades con múltiples objetivos que se desarrollan en una biblioteca pública pequeña y que cuenta con la implicación imprescindible de dos sectores de población de nuestra comunidad: los ancianos y los niños. Las dos actividades surgen de la prioridad de acercar a estos dos sectores a la biblioteca, con esta intención primigenia se orientan dosprogramas hacia otros objetivos como son la promoción bibliotecaria, la animación a la lectura, el impulso de relaciones intergeneracionales, la plasmación de la cultura oral en documentos para la colección local y la reducción de la violencia en las aulas. Los resultados fueron excelentes. El texto termina con la breve descripción de otras prácticas con niños y ancianos.
