The Centre for Alternative Technology: An 'Extreme' NGO?
Abstract
The Centre for Alternative Technology is an example of an NGO that attempted to conduct its activities in a self-consciously radical manner. Over the years, this persistent pattern came into conflict with economic realities and human frailties and eventually morphed into a fairly conventional structure that nevertheless continues to create novel, challenging and radical products.
