A method of and a circuit for radar signal compression according to the invention can be applied in radar systems, especially those generating and processing broadband radar pulses with constant amplitude and linear or nonlinear frequency modulation. In a composite radiolocation pulse composed of a definite number of subpulses with different carrier frequencies, signal compression can be accomplished with the use of analytical properties of signals matched to subpulses of the composite radar signal and storing them in a non-volatile memory block. Further, determination of an optimum low-pass representation of radar subpulses includes a stage of analog-digital conversion and a matched filtering stage in a bank of matched filters. Operation of each matched filter consists in calculation of two convolutions of the composite radar signal with analytic signals matched to subpulses.

[Show full abstract] performance of a single-polarized source and the platform's scattering characteristics in a broadband range. The polarization-selective metamaterial consists of polarization-conversion transmission structures and polarization-selective reflection structures. Through phase design of these components, polarization-selective wavefront converter and chessboard metasurfaces were developed and fabricated. When integrated with the antenna platform, simulations and experimental results demonstrate an average radiation gain improvement of 7.3 dBi in the 8-12 GHz frequency range. Simultaneously, the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) reduction exceeds 10 dB on average within the same frequency range, and the bistatic RCS reduction averages over 10 dB for incident angles between 0° and 50°. In summary, this study presents an approach for the simultaneous control of both radiation and scattering performance over a broad frequency range.

[Show full abstract] those of real targets. This paper proposes a target RCS simulation method based on AFSS echo power modulation. The core idea is to use AFSS reflection modulation to dynamically regulate the target power information to achieve flexible and fast control of the target radar RCS characteristics. Based on the AFSS echo power modulation model, the theoretical relationship between the modulation parameters and the RCS value is deduced, and the duty cycle of the scattering state control signal is used as an adjustable variable to realise the simulation of the dynamic RCS sequence of the mid‐range target. The RCS simulation experiment is carried out based on the target measured data, and the simulation effect is analysed in terms of statistical characteristics and similarity coefficients. The simulation results show that the statistical characteristics of the simulated RCS sequence and the target RCS sequence are very close to each other with the mean value and standard deviation within 1 dBsm and the extreme value and extreme deviation within 3 dBsm. The method is of great significance in the field of radar system tests and electronic protection.

The generated vortex waves are presented by analyzing the intensity and wavefront distributions, and the three-dimensional imaging model is built. Subsequently, the two-dimensional imaging method is proposed to remove the negative influence of the Bessel function modulation, and the three-dimensional imaging algorithms are developed to obtain the target’s position in range, azimuth and elevation dimensions. Results show good agreement with the theoretical analyses, which provide robust three-dimensional imaging performance for multiple targets located at different elevation angles and achieve super-resolution in the azimuth dimension. This work can advance the development of three-dimensional imaging technology with stare illuminating manner.

The high performance multi-channel acquisition system has improved the multi-target detection accuracy and anti-interference ability of phased array radar fundamentally. The hardware design includes four main parts: power supply circuit, acquisition circuit, cache circuit and transmission circuit. The power supply circuit provides stable power for the whole system; The acquisition circuit mainly realizes the acquisition of signal by ADC chip and the analog-digital conversion. The cache circuit realizes the data cache of DDR3. The transmission circuit is to realize the communication between the system and the computer. In the software part, Xilinx Kintex-7 series FPGA is selected as the main control chip. The signal acquisition is realized by configuring clock chip and ADC chip. The digital signal is received by using Xilinx primitive. The signal frequency is reduced by digital down-conversion. Finally, construct UDP protocol stack to realize data transmission from system to computer. The results show that the system can run normally, the performance index is also within the specified range, and it has reliable practicability.
