Abstract

Native People's Circle of Hope (NPCOH) aims to help cancer survivors, their family members and caregivers understand they are not alone. Advocating for quality health care for native people is NPCOH's primary goal. NPCOH projects include the Medicine Bag Project, which gifts newly diagnosed cancer survivors items they may need during treatment; the Native Hope Project, which promotes wearing yellow (the color of hope) in traditional regalia to show solidarity with cancer survivors; the Roots of Strength Annual Conference; the Speaker's Bureau; and the educational training session titled, “How to Start Your Own Cancer Support Group.” Local chapters are the basis of community support and advocacy. NPCOH's AACR poster features the activities of the local chapters and provides examples of their personalized projects. Citation Format: {Authors}. {Abstract title} [abstract].
