Abstract

This volume comprises the full proceedings of the second edition of the Strategica International Conference, held in Bucharest, Romania, on October 2-3, 2014. The conference explores the organizational strategic thinking, planning and action in the context of new governments' policies and international institutions' measures after-crisis, as well as considering the evolutions within businesses. The focus is set on the relationships between management, finance and ethics. As an overview, the conference papers are interdis-ciplinary and aim at exploring the shifts in management, as well as the relevance of ethics, values and standards at individual , institutional and social levels in the world of finance and business, considering both the macro-level and the micro-level approaches.

La responsabilidad social de la empresa es un concepto en auge, pero sometido a fuertes cr�ticas y, sobre todo, que adolece de una debilidad fundamental: carece todav�a de un concepto generalmente aceptado, lo que la convierte en una amalgama de propuestas basadas en teor�as �ticas, sociol�gicas y econ�micas, a menudo incompatibles entre s�. Este art�culo parte, primero, de diferentes modelos de la organizaci�n o de la empresa y de la idea de responsabilidad impl�cita en los mismos; analiza luego el concepto de responsabilidad, como categor�a moral, y discute, finalmente, el significado y contenido de la responsabilidad social de la empresa.

El primer volúmen La Sociedad en Red, Manuel Castells aborda el proceso de globalización que amenaza con hacer prescindibles a los pueblos y países excluídos de las redes de la información. Muestra cómo en las economías avanzadas la producción se concentra en un sector de la población educado y relativamente joven. Por último, el autor examina los efectos e implicaciones de los cambios tecnológicos sobre la cultura de los medios de comunicación -la cultura de la virtualidad real- en la vida urbana, la política global y la naturaleza del tiempo y del espacio. El segundo volúmen El Poder de la Identidad, el autor muestra cómo las categorías fundamentales de la existencia son transformadas por la influencia combinada de las fuerzas tecno-económicas y de los movimientos sociales. El tercer volúmen Fin de Milenio,Manuel Castells completa su trilogía analizando los grandes procesos sociales y políticos que han transformado nuestro mundo en la última década: el colapso de la Unión Soviética, el desarrollo de un nuevo capitalismo dinámico y excluyente, el auge del crimen global, la irrupción del Pacífico Asiático como región decisiva de crecimiento y crisis en la economía mundial y la unificación europea, en la que se observa una nueva forma de estado, el Estado red.
