This article reveals the matter and essence of the functional organization of border inspection posts at the border of Ukraine in the process of modernisation of the state customs procedures. [Show full abstract] their work time. The main problematic aspects affecting the border crossing quality, practicality and operational efficiency of border inspection posts are studied. Attention is focused on the topical issues in the arrangement of a joint control of persons, vehicles, goods and objects at common border inspection posts at the Ukrainian- Moldovan State Border. The author comes to a conclusion that it is possible to resolve the problematic aspects of the functional organisation of inspection posts at the Ukrainian border provided that projects for reconstruction of present border inspection posts of Ukraine, modernisation of border inspection posts and their approach roadways would be launched, the priority of introducing the procedure of joint control would be considered, and negotiation procedures with specialised institutions of neighbouring countries would be reinforced for the purpose of signing international treaties on opening new international border inspection posts and joint control agreements.

Analysis on the collaboration percentage (CP) focuses on the harmoniousness of the development. A high CP shows that the two industries cooperate tacitly, which can accelerate the joint development of the two industries. A low CP shows that the two industries cannot respond to each other's requirement in time, which will result in a restricted industry that lags behind other industries. ... Research and Implementation of Robot Path Planning Based onVSLAM

In order to solve the problem of warehouse logistics robots planpath in different scenes, this paper proposes a method based on visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) to build grid map of different scenes and use A* algorithm to plan path on the grid map. Rely on the terrain information, we use the A* algorithm to solve path planning problem. We also optimize the A* algorithm and improve algorithm efficiency. Lastly, we verify the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed method by simulation and experimental results.

Dimensionality Reduction to Reveal Urban Truck Driver Activity Patterns

Based on driver survey data, drivers’ behaviors are represented as longitudinal activity sequences. Dimensionality reduction and activity reconstruction via PCA, logistic PCA, and Autoencoder are conducted to reveal fundamental activity features and approximate the underlying data generating function. This study finds that PCA produces the most faithful reconstruction of drivers’ activities. When ... [Show full abstract] projecting the input data down from 2592 to 82 dimensions, PCA can explain 77% of variances and obtain a reconstruction error of 0.99%. Logistic PCA is a useful extension of PCA to study the pattern of a single activity. It can capture the variation of infrequent activities such as queuing, which PCA fails to reconstruct. Autoencoder is more powerful than PCA in reconstructing activities: with 1% of original dimensionality, it reconstructs the activities with an error rate of 1.24%. Moreover when implemented as a Variational Autoencoder (VAE), Autoencoder can generate realistic-looking samples of driver activities.
