Photon Is the Ultimate Elementary Particle of Matter

According to the entropy increases principle, I make a deduction that photon is ultimate elementary particle of matter and further more, it shows photon's physical characteristic and physical constants affect the physical law and physical constants of the whole universe. In this essay, I try to take a lead for the study of elementary particles and the grand unified physics.

The two parts of the second law of thermodynamics

According to Sommerfeld, the well known Clausius and Kelvin statements of the second law of thermodynamics comprises two parts. Here, we argue that this principle need not be a derived law and may be considered as a fundamental law, without the need of demonstration. To this end we analyze the roots of the second law, which are contained in the memoir of Carnot on the production of work by heat, and its emergence in the papers of Clausius on heat.

Equivalence of the Kelvin–Planck statement of the second law and the principle of entropy increase

We present a demonstration of the equivalence between the Kelvin-Planck statement of the second law and the principle of entropy increase. Despite the fundamental importance of these two statements, a rigorous treatment to establish their equivalence is missing in standard physics textbooks. The argument is valid under very general conditions, but is simple and suited to an undergraduate course.

[Show full abstract] One of the main concepts that makes everything work is the comparison principle (which, in essence, states that given any two states of the same chemical composition at least one is adiabatically accessible from the other) and we show that it can be derived from some assumptions about the pressure and thermal equilibrium. Temperature is derived from entropy, but at the start not even the concept of ‘hotness ’ is assumed. Our formulation offers a certain clarity and rigor that goes beyond most textbook discussions of the second law.
