In the twenty-first century, literature is no longer confined to printed books or written text but is mediated by digital technology in multisensory ways. These technological and sensory changes call for a fundamentally intermedial perspective on literature. This article presents intermediality as a crucial framework for unpacking the changing interplay between objects, communicative resources, and literary conventions. Specifically, Lars Elleström’s intermedial framework (2021) enables a more fine-grained exploration of the digital condition of literature. Analysing Johannes Heldén and Håkan Jonson’s digital artwork Evolution (2014) using Elleström’s media modalities allows us to trace how technological changes transform our literary experience, compared to a printed poetry collection or AI-generated poems. Beyond interart relationships and approaches to digital literature, an intermedial perspective highlights the potential of literary language use and offers valuable insights to human-machine creativity.

Design education emphasizes learning activities through exercises of sense, logic, and motor skills to create critical and creative individuals with artistic appreciation. Traditionally, design education is mostly conducted through face-to-face consultation and discussion to grasp undefined and uncommunicated tacit knowledge. Technological developments have led to societal changes that affect human learning patterns and online learning growth. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of online learning design courses. Theoretical reviews are used to understand the theoretical foundations of education, design education, online learning, and learning interactivity. This study introduces the didactic-pedagogical-contentcontext (DPCX) knowledge framework for online design courses. The framework was developed from the Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPCK) model to explain the content, pedagogical, and contextual elements of the design discipline applied to online learning. Design lecturers can use this framework as a guide to determine the combination of material content, pedagogy, and contextual materials in online learning. These findings and recommendations can also contribute to policymakers designing education in general. Keywords: design education, online learning, learning interactivity, DPCX, TPCK

The original idealistic goals of the early internet have obviously not really been realized. The freedom of access to information is nowadays restricted and controlled from many sides. Furthermore, the underlying technology is a point of criticism and also a security risk, as it is often difficult or even impossible to operate on the internet without disclosing personal data. Additionally, it is gradually being recognized that not every content can be free of charge. The production of high-quality content requires payment for the effort and work that goes into it. For this reason, since the beginning of the 2020s, work has been underway on the development of a decentralized internet, which is based on the idea of ownership and is intended to replace the interactive Web 2.0. This development is accompanied by new technological approaches such as blockchain, smart contracts, and NFTs and is intended to form the basis for the metaverse.

‘Mediamorphosis’ is a transformation of communication media caused by complex interactions between perceived needs, competitive and political pressures, and social and technological innovation. The digital revolution that gave birth to media digitalisation is one of the causes of mediamorphosis. Another thing that drives mediamorphosis is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia and other countries in the world. Mediamorphosis is a concept used in this study because it refers to the form of radio broadcasts that have changed and adapted due to the novel COVID-19 virus throughout the world and in Indonesia. The main social regulations by the Indonesian Government have implications for radio broadcasting operations. This study aims to see how local private radio– Radio Elisa FM carries out mediamorphosis which is analysed more specifically using the concept of convergence. The research paradigm used is constructivism with a qualitative approach and case study method. The results of the study show that the mediamorphosis carried out by Radio Elisa produces a new face for Radio Elisa broadcasts as a visual radio in the new normal era.

The subject of this article is human potential, which is considered in the system of indicators of national wealth of the country in the context of transformation of the socio-economic system. The role of human potential in the system of indicators of national wealth is especially important in the context of transformation of the socio-economic system. The development of human potential contributes to the diversification of the economy, allowing the country to move from traditional industries to new, high-tech sectors. Human potential plays an important role in achieving sustainable development goals, since it contributes to a more rational use of resources and a more equitable distribution of benefits. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the role of human potential in the system of indicators of national wealth of the country in the context of transformation of the socio-economic system. The research methodology is based on the generalization of information on the topic under consideration from domestic and foreign sources of information. Using the comparative-descriptive method of research, the categories of "human capital", "human potential", "labor resources" were analyzed. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that human potential is considered as a phenomenon in the space-time continuum, which creates a fundamental opportunity for the accumulation of national wealth of the country in the context of changes in the socio-economic system. The article substantiates the fundamental role of human potential in the accumulation and increase of national wealth of the country, in the perspective of investments in human capital through qualifications and education, professional training, forming sustainable development and adaptability to changes in the economic environment.

Human well-being as a criterion of progress is usually measured by indices of standard of living, quality of life, and human development. These indices are based on methodological individualism and consider human development as an increase in individuals’ prosperity, comfort, freedom, and self-realization. While comparing countries or regions, the object of consideration are aggregated individuals, rather than nations, peoples and territorial communities within which the species Homo sapiens exists. Due to their conceptual scope, the accepted indices do not see an obvious paradox: the maximization of what is considered well-being – standard of living and personal selfexpression – exacerbates the anthropological crisis, namely the destruction of sociality in all historically established forms, the rapid destruction of a family institution and refusal of human individuals to continue the human race. The authors of the article propose a new index to measure human well-being, which is a social production of life and a social order that reduces human suffering. The viability of human community requires population reproduction which is the first condition for social development. But society is not identical to the population, and social well-being presupposes the reproduction of an institutional balance between communal and personal principles. The key to social and population reproduction is the preservation of family as the basic structure of society. Reducing human suffering means minimizing threats to human life and eliminating extreme forms of social oppression. The minimization of threats to human life and safety of social environment are verified by reduction in mortality from external causes and an increase in average life expectancy. To avoid the extremes of social oppression, it is necessary to eliminate poverty and ensure universal education for children. Thus, social well-being, which is being understood and achieved, is a necessary basis for the sustainable development of nations.

Britpop—the term applied to capture the 1990s’ zeitgeist of guitar pop consciously steeped in a British musical tradition—has had a long afterlife, establishing its own place in that canon, while its proponents and principal champions have retained roles as elder statespersons of British music and associated sectors. This chapter traces the different iterations of this trajectory, before examining the intergenerational and industrial dynamics that have underpinned it. It argues that the changing meanings that have attached to Britpop have arisen through a dialogue between 1960s-to-early-1970s-born musicians and music journalists on the one hand, and late-1970s-to-mid-1980s-born fans on the other.

This article analyzes one of the current problems of modern politics and political science known as “the crisis of democracy”. The methodology of the study is based on system approach where a democratic political system is presented as a regulating system with feedback and inner stabilization contour. Under the system approach, the “crisis of democracy” is associated with dysfunction of political institutions of representative democracy that enable operation of the feedback channel – institution of elections and institution of political parties. The dysfunction of the feedback channel leads to problems with human resources and functional quality of the bodies of state power. The essence of these problems is that decisions taken by the authorities may not fully meet the needs and challenges of the dynamically changing social environment. In this context, the modern “crisis of democracy” can be viewed as a crisis of regulation of the social environment by the state authorities, which is caused by the crisis of legitimacy and effectiveness of decisions made by the authorities. The crisis of efficiency stems from a dysfunction of the highest bodies of state power, which are unable to make timely decisions and provide adequate responses to changes in the economic and political situation, international and domestic events. The crisis of efficiency leads to a decrease in the level of trust in political elites, political parties, the president and the government, which further triggers crises of political participation and representation and spirals into a crisis of legitimacy as involvement of citizens in the decision-making process. The key factor of the modern “crisis of democracy” is that under the conditions of post-industrial civilizational transit, political systems of the modern democratic states do not respond adequately to the transformation of the social environment into socio-informational environment, where social and info-communication processes are inextricably intertwined. The study shows that currently we are facing the “crisis of democracy” of transformational type, which is meant to stimulate the development and improvement of democratic political and state institutions and orders based on their adaptation to the new socio-informational environment.

The current geopolitical framework has forced European countries to redefine their energy relations and take rapid steps to become energy independent. In recent years, Europe has relied on Russian oil and gas, especially countries like Germany or Italy, but this must change and Europe must find a quick solution to achieve energy independence. Lack of investment in gas production will increase dependence on imports and affect the path to energy independence. The paper highlights the impact that costs have in the investment field. Technologies related to alternative sources of energy to the consumption of crude oil have been developed and are supported in the policies of the EUregarding the reduction of carbon emissions. If changes are not made in the way energy is produced, transported and consumed, humanity could face a major energy crisis. The aspects addressed in this paper are aimed at highlighting the sensitivity of oil companies to the mutations of the markets in which they operate, respectively raising interest in a preventive – anticipatory approach to future challenges. The type of research used in this paper is a descriptive one, with the aim of documenting and understanding the phenomena, and observation, document analysis and SWOT analysis were used as research methods.

Business continuity is possible through maintaining market position, while growth requires gaining competitive advantage. This can only be achieved through systematic attention to the consumer and the development of the product offering. These factors primarily determine the success of an organization. Against this backdrop, the trend towards personalization of goods delivered to consumers is becoming increasingly evident. The answer to these business problems is the creation of buyer seller relationships in which the consumer becomes a prosumer: a consumer who provides opinions, suggests solutions, tests and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the product. Therefore, the search for methods and tools that allow for the identification of groups of consumers susceptible to cooperation with the organization - to varying degrees - becomes a very important scientific and business problem. This is why the authors of this article defined the aim of the article as the analysis of the possibility of using semantic networks for the categorization of consumers and defining the category of prosumers. The results presented in the article were obtained through the application of triangulation of research methods, such as analytical literature review, computer simulation conducted using Protégé software, and research experiment consisting of simulation of selected problem situations. This paper is an expanded version of an article published as part of the ECAI 2023 conference proceedings.

The term postdigital implies a rupture and continuity of the digital paradigm, which allows us to analyse the challenges implied by a largely digitalised society. At the same time, the term transmedia goes completely unnoticed in the postdigital literature, despite sharing key elements in its reflection on the digital paradigm. For this reason, this article reflects on the points of contact between transmedia and postdigital storytelling, as well as the differences identified between postdigital storytelling and its precedents: digital storytelling and transmedia storytelling. It is discussed that postdigital storytelling becomes an evolution of digital storytelling in congruence with the challenges posed by the postdigital paradigm and, simultaneously, that transmedia storytelling can adopt a postdigital perspective under which to balance the media it uses, while maintaining its essence of narrative expansion, which is a dispensable condition in digital and postdigital storytelling. Finally, an analogous reflection to the digital term emerges that more and more the transmedia nature is intertwined and diluted in the context that surrounds us to the point that it ceases to make sense.

This paper investigates the terminology associated with "New regionalism" and its integration into Ukrainian legislation, analyzing its political and administrative implications. "New regionalism" is a contemporary administrative-territorial reform, with a focus on the principle of subsidiarity, which minimizes central authority intervention in local affairs. While not explicitly present in its regulations, certain subsidiarity elements are part of Ukrainian law. The study explores the adoption and implementation of "New regionalism" principles and terminology within the country's legal discourse. The second aim of the study was to examine how "New regionalism" could potentially influence the political dynamics and administrative structures, particularly in the context of decentralization efforts. By employing systematic and comparative methodologies alongside principles of dialectical analysis, the study offers insights into the evolving landscape of Ukrainian political and administrative terminology alongside its structures, which might play a crucial role in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

The primary objective of this article is to construct a comprehensive conceptual definition of "post-capitalism." The contemporary global landscape, characterized by postmodernity, is currently undergoing a profound institutional crisis. This crisis impacts both its economic underpinnings, rooted in the dominance of financial capitalism, and its societal foundations, which revolve around a universal model of social development built upon a universalist model of consumption.Discourses surrounding post-capitalism within Russian and Western academic and expert circles exhibit unique characteristics. However, they share common traits. On one hand, these discourses reflect an acknowledgment of the impasses inherent in existing models of globalization. On the other hand, they recognize the transformation of capitalism as a universal socio-economic system that forms the bedrock of international relations. This article underscores the inescapable rise of non-economic factors influencing socio-economic systems' development, including their role in shaping international relations. Post-capitalism is best understood as a collection of principles guiding spatial organization and the establishment of economic and political relationships within these spaces, rather than a specific developmental model. Positioned as an element within the broader return to a spatiality, post-capitalism is predominantly discussed within the context of international processes, serving as a transitional phase in international political and economic relations.

Almost one century after Walter Benjamin’s dissertation on the value of the work of art under the impact of its technological reproduction on the roots of globalization and mass media society, the current research aims to provide some coordinates to approach the influence of AI co-creative processes in the artistic field. From a media archaeological approach, we will map the collaborative practices that emerge in the Generative Art landscape to understand the creative possibilities of interaction between humans and machine-driven artistic goals. By conceiving the Web 3.0 as an expansive megadungeon, we find an increasing number of projects based on participative dynamics where online communities join forces with AI decentralized artists to reshape the current state of the art. We will take as an example the Botto Project, a community-driven creator conceived by Mario Klingemann, a pioneer of AI artworks who employs machine learning methods to revolutionize the blockchain and crypto art market. This case study leads us to reconsider the (wo)man-machine co-creation as the base of the auratic experience of the work of art in the age of AI co-creativity.

There is no denying that in our digital culture, prosumers have an impact on brand positioning and purchase decisions with their audience. However, the actions and discourse of the prosumers can also exert other types of motivation in the academic field. Thus, we wanted to assess if the YouTube prosumer movement has had any impact in the desire of digital design students towards video game development. In this chapter we first introduce the concept of motivation, the different types, and how it relates to the design process. Though motivation theory is not the focus of the research, it is relevant to better understand what the driving force behind the students’ video game projects proposals is. Through the literature review we explore the work of authors on the topic of impact on motivation prosumers have had on students. Finally, we present the results of two surveys conducted amongst students of the Digital Design for Interactive Media (DDIM) undergraduate program. Subjects had to have some video game and Virtual Reality (VR) design and development experience to participate in this research. The first survey laid foundation about students’ motivation in relation to YouTube prosumers. Second survey focused on finding if the opinion of prosumers regarding VR, motivated the students in pursuing school projects that use this technology. Both questionnaires were based on a five-point Likert scale and dichotomous questions. The information gathered, allowed a better understanding of the context of video games and VR from the perspective of YouTube content creators. In addition, the influence they have on DDIM students.

The author shows that identity as a historically given social reality develops under the inverse influence of the entire set of value-institutional resources of society generated by it, including its active subjectivity, integrating potential of national interest, process sovereignty, stable institutional structure and dynamic factor of exogenous reforms. The conclusion is substantiated that the imprint of relevance on the historical essence of the national identity adapts it to today’s needs, but at the same time there are limits of adaptation that the society cannot cross without losing its identity. Based on such an understanding, the author proves the possibility of consistently developing criteria for the coordinated use of internal trust tools as those that should be directly correlated with national identity: stability of the monetary unit, stability of the tax regime, stimulating state investment policy, social guarantee policy, and foreign economic strategy. This provides an opportunity to significantly increase the degree of coherence of the main areas of state regulatory policy.

This paper aims to reconsider prosumers' role in the power markets in the early stages of their decentralization, accounting for rising self-supply trends, security threats, and economic and regulatory barriers. The development of prosumerism envisages finding the ratio between retail market sales under the feed-in tariff and the net billing mechanism. Within the methodology section, the indicator of prosumer efficiency for electricity generation (EUR/kWh) is proposed based on average consumption/production ratios and consumption/delivery incentives. To support household prosumers, the mentioned incentives on the renewable energy market consider the self-supply cost of electricity, the levelized cost of electricity for small-scale green energy facilities (solar photovoltaic and wind), and transaction costs. This paper evaluates prosumer efficiency under three consumption/production ratio scenarios for Ukrainian households (self-consumption of 40%, 20%, and 100% of green electricity annually generated by a household and selling the leftovers via the feed-in tariff) for 2023. The gradual movement from fixed tariffs for households toward market-based prices promotes the emergence of new related market players and their consolidation in the market. Participation in the organized power market segments is relevant for day-ahead market prices above 130 EUR/MWh, disregarding the households' tariff rate. The low price caps inhibit the prosumer's participation in the market, while the transition from the feed-in tariff to net billing significantly promotes their development only under high price caps.

This chapter talks about the creation of the Digital Grid. This grid uses something called inverter technology to connect different parts, similar to how a car’s automatic transmission works. The big breakthrough was the invention of the Digital Grid Router (DGR), a device that connects the grid to the Internet. This was the birth of the Digital Grid. This new grid works by creating little pockets of power called cell grids. These cell grids first meet their own power needs, then share any extra power with other cell grids and the existing power grid. This system helps to prevent a domino effect where one power outage leads to another. The chapter ends by saying the Digital Grid is a power system that can change and grow.

Cities worldwide are calling for smart mobility strategies to tackle the negative externalities of their transport networks. Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is expected to introduce a new mobility model that promotes smarter and more sustainable urban futures. Given the novelty of the concept, this paper explores the implications that might arise from the implementation of MaaS in today’s metropolises in relation to the six dimensions of smart cities: smart governance, smart economy, smart mobility, smart environment, smart people, and smart living. To this end, 42 semi-structured interviews with MaaS stakeholders were conducted in Madrid (Spain). Thematic analysis identified a set of 35 urban implications. The success of MaaS requires more than the mere deployment of technologies and must be supported by the reorganisation of institutional structures, the reform of the regulatory scenario, the stimulation of innovation-based entrepreneurship, the promotion of environmental awareness, the encouragement of cultural transition, and the consideration of the public sphere. Overall, valuable insights are identified for policymakers when designing MaaS. Assessment of multiple stakeholders’ perspectives enables a holistic understanding of these strategies and thus maximises their potential to address the limitations of our complex mobility systems in meeting urban sustainability goals.

As information and communication technology advances rapidly, real-time live online broadcasting has emerged as a novel social media platform. In particular, live online broadcasts have gained widespread popularity among audiences. However, this process can cause environmental problems. When audiences imitate live content and perform similar field activities, it can have a negative effect on the environment. In this study, an extended theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used to explore how online live broadcasts relate to environmental damage from the perspective of human behavior. A total of 603 valid responses were collected from a questionnaire survey, and a regression analysis was conducted to verify the hypotheses. The findings showed that the TPB can be applied to account for the formation mechanism of behavioral intention of field activities caused by online live broadcasts. The mediating effect of imitation was verified using the above relationship. These findings are expected to provide a practical reference for the control of online live broadcast content and guidance on public environmental behavior.

The Covid-19 pandemic and the intensified digitalization of life-worlds has especially affected younger generations, also in Austria. In this paper, we approach digital practices of 43 young adults between 16 and 18 years in a frame-analytical perspective to understand forms of politicization during the Covid-19 pandemic. We analyze memes in order to make sense of youth’s life-worlds during the pandemic. The memes were created by youth as a result of a workshop series with the researchers. Our research shows that memes have provided a means for engaging and dealing digitally and emotionally with Covid-19-related problems. We show that the respective youth address educational, social and democratic issues by problematizing ‘homeschooling as overburdening’, a ‘lack of planning’ and ‘social divisions’. Moreover, meme-creation offers a perspective on how youth express and create a ‘sense of community’ through digital practices. During the pandemic youth have increasingly come to understand and represent themselves as a group with shared experiences in digital space, going along with a positioning as ‘younger generation’ vis-à-vis older generations. We argue that the fact that the pandemic has affected youth heavily and the fact that they do not see their issues and needs represented by political representatives or media shows the potential and limits of digital spaces for younger generations to connect (politically).

This chapter is a phenomenological analysis of the lived experience of few selected students, pursuing higher education, who attended remote learning classes during the Covid period. Remote learning was started as an exigency due to the outbreak of coronavirus. Digital education, by default, is known for its power to cater to the interests of the students. This study collected data from ten college students to understand their lived experience as a remote learner. The experiences shared by the students show that online education can influence the structure of social consciousness of the future society. The freedom of movement of the student is the best model that remote learning offers for post-Covid education. But at the same time excessive surveillance by parents is a major threat. We need to distinguish between educational intervention and surveillance to find a healthy model for post-Covid education.KeywordsPhenomenological analysisExcessive surveillanceSocial nature of educationEmpty public spacesCongested digital spacesNeoliberal market economy

The paper is devoted to the problem of human existence in new civilizational conditions. She reveals different reasons that have caused a contemporary civilizational crisis. Among them are the following: a man’s dependence on a machine, a state’s repressiveness, mass character of many phenomena and processes, a loss of spiritual and moral quality in human nature, etc. She bases her idea on the works by G. Marcuse, A. Glucksmann, D. Rismen, A. Camus, K. Lebak. Nowadays we deal with contradictions of information society when technologies again dominate over spiritual values (A. Toffler, E. Masuda, D. Bell D). But we should find a balance between spiritual and technological aspects in order to create a society of a new type.

Huge amount of data is generated nowadays by many and various sources and their management is a problem of high importance in science, especially in research and development. Complex phenomena can be accurately modeled using various sources of large amount of data which either cross check the models, or improve their accuracy. Data management is an important issue in actual modeling context, which must be solved at both, concept level and applications' layer. The paper presents a ‘checklist’ of questions to be answered when the data management layer of a new computer aided model must be conceived and implemented. Moreover, finding the rules of the ‘game’, i.e. the best policies for the rapid development of the data management foundation of the models leads to a valuable knowhow in the rapid composite models’ development or even in hybrid models’ development. The paper presents the conclusions of a thorough study of the MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB RDBMSs. A subsequent study will approach MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB and Databricks in order to synchronize the models’ development requirements with the actual cloud approaches: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. To conclude, in the huge volume of data actual conditions, an intelligent data persistency strategy within a model is a goal for a smart and visionary analyst, who is, according to Blaise Pascal, a “thinking reed”, i.e. “Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but he is a thinking reed”.

This research aims to gain insight on the perception that minors have of viral challenges as an entertainment format and the motivations behind their participation in this digital entertainment phenomenon. A qualitative study was performed by way of twelve focus groups with sixty-two minors aged between eleven and seventeen years from Spain. For minors, viral challenges represent a form of entertainment in an interactive context, perceived as innocuous, ephemeral content from which nothing more is required than for the user to have a good time. This appears to lead the minors interviewed to ignore the meaning and origin of the viral challenges they visualise and share, neither do they regard this to be necessary. It is also important to underline the relativisation of risk and danger in favour of spectacularisation and virality.

The article characterizes approaches to the periodization of social development in the context of the introduction of new technologies. Theories of technological development of society by E. Toffler, D. Bell, K. Schwab, S.Yu. Glazyev, N. Howe and W. Strauss in order to determine the factors of social development and key characteristics of modern civilization. The results of the study made it possible to develop the author's summary table of periodization of the development of society in the context of technological progress. The table clearly reflects the key characteristics of each of the stages of technological development. The author focuses on the modern, electronic-digital civilization, where the creation of personal computer technology and the development of the Internet smoothly passed into the heyday of genetic engineering and the training of artificial intelligence. In addition, the analysis allows us to conclude that the current stage of development of society is a qualitatively new stage of civilizational development, which carries both many advantages and conveniences, as well as risks and threats.

The COVID-19 pandemic gives us the largest telework experiment ever conducted globally, that will most likely leave visible and lasting marks on the organization of the labor market in the future. The purpose of this approach is to investigate the wellbeing from the social and emotional perspective of the individual, considering relevant relational communication, emotional dimension, work intensity, organization, autonomy and work–life balance, customized in the context of teleworking. The information was collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. The wellbeing assessment was performed based on the correlation analysis and the regression analysis. The results of the studies reveal that the existence of adequate communication and work–life balance ensure the wellbeing of telework employees, while the increase in work intensity degrades it. Furthermore, good communication moderates the relationship between organizational skills and wellbeing. The comparative analysis of wellbeing in relation to the explanatory variables considered by including the gender and age perspective reveals the existence of different configurations, with specific signs and statistical meanings.

We know that the energy transition refers to the current electrification of consumption and the parallel decarbonization of the electricity that powers it. The transition model is called also of the 3D: decarbonization, digitalization and decentralization. An important role is played from the digitalization and smartization of the grids that permit the flexibility of the demand. In the future it will be increasingly possible to produce energy closer to where it is consumed, extending the transformation of passive consumers into active consumers, either directly or through aggregations. An important share of energy consumption is due to residential, tertiary and commercial buildings. The so-called end-users. Recent European Directives highlighted clearly the role of the end-users as active players of the system. The goal of this paper is to highlight the advantages of distributed generation combined with the possibility of aggregation of users, transforming the electrical infrastructure into an aggregate of mini and micro networks in an energy communities scenario. In this scenario, the electricity transmission and distribution networks are destined to profoundly change their role, which will be that of guaranteeing a reliable connection capable of allowing exchanges between the various generations of electricity and overcoming the criticality deriving from the aleatory nature of some renewable sources. Pending the complete transformation of the system, the paper proposes a classification of smart microgrids models for the aggregation of the end-users in energy communities. The paper proposes an hybrid model of microgrids, based on a DC common power sharing generation, particularly suitable for multi-unit residential buildings that are the majority of residential infrastructures in our urban centers.

This Element examines the current crisis of capitalism's legitimacy and concludes that it derives principally from business pursuing an aberration of capitalism known as shareholder capitalism, in which firms sought to maximize shareholder value as reflected in the current share price, at the expense of all other stakeholders and society. Shareholder capitalism began in the 1970s and was renounced by the Business Roundtable in 2019, but continues behind a façade of stakeholder capitalism. Stakeholder capitalism is the most widely cited form of capitalism today, but it is incoherent as a practical guide to action for an entire firm. This Element concludes that a recent evolution of capitalism--customer capitalism--which gives primacy to co-creating value for customers and users, enables firms to master the challenges of the digital age, shower benefits on society, and meet the needs of all the stakeholders.

Prosumers are individuals who produce goods they consume themselves. The prosumption literature suggests that prosumption can be enhanced through knowledge sharing, creativity and innovation, and developing expertise. In this article, we investigate the relationships between prosumption experiences, prosumption values, and affinity with a prosumption activity. We use a structural equation model approach to evaluate the relationships between these constructs and assume that affinity can mediate the relationship between prosumption experiences and values. We collect empirical data from prosumers who homebrew their own beer and confirm that prosumption experiences and values are positively related, and that affinity mediates the relationship between experiences and values. Implications deriving from these findings are discussed along with directions for future research.
