Abstract

As one of the forms and shapes of modern furniture design, folding furniture is a reflection of increasing aestheticism and daily life, being the inevitable trend of the variety of furniture design. Folding dining table is mainly for the young in the city, displaying its fashion and novelty from its shape and interior structure; projecting its perfect combination of traditional material and modern craftmanship from selecting the proper material; presenting the concept of creating the need to boost consumption by studying the products aesthetic value and human value. Abstract. As one of the forms and shapes of modern furniture design, folding furniture is a
reflection of increasing aestheticism and daily life, being the inevitable trend of the variety of
furniture design. Folding dining table is mainly for the young in the city, displaying its fashion and
novelty from its shape and interior structure; projecting its perfect combination of traditional
material and modern craftmanship from selecting the proper material; presenting the concept of
creating the need to boost consumption by studying the product’s aesthetic value and human value.
This article is to predict the future trend of modern funiture design through the above-mentioned
three aspects.
Introduction
With the development of the society and incresing competition, people have a fast pace of life.
However, the dwelling space is narrow and small, gradually there is a change in aestheticism among
more and more young city dwellers: they seek after the brief, fashionable and humanized furniture,
which is convenient to use and can make full use of the limited space. Thus it caters to the need of the
young generation. In this case, the folding dining table not only meets the need of the market, but also
satifies the cosumer psychology, and it is a drastic aesthetic change in hi-tech era to have a high
quality life. As a classic furniture design (refer with: Fig. 1,Fig.2), the design concept is as followed.

The principle of Design
The physical appearance of product is the carrier of information, coveying the ideals and concepts of
the designer, producing a series of mentally and physically interaction through visual effect and
finally making a decision to pruchase.
Orientation. This design, firstly, is for the young city dwllers for they can easily adapt themselves
to the fast pace of life in city and it’s easy for them to accept new things, therefore, they consider
the physical appearance and novelty important, which is a pushing force for the aestheticism in this
period. So the design should take the fashion, novelty and creativity into consideration. In design,
roundness is the first option, derived from the traditional value of being “round”, and it is implying

Traditional cleaning processes in restaurant, wedding, and event settings often involve manual labor, resulting in time-consuming and labor-intensive tasks. Additionally, conventional sterilization and hygiene practices are not upheld. In this paper, an innovative solution is proposed to address the challenge of time-consuming and labor-intensive cleaning processes in restaurant, wedding, and event settings by introducing an automated self-cleaning dining table. The development process has included the creation of an ergonomic machine prototype, the selection of suitable materials and machining techniques, and a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis. This research explores the concept and potential benefits of this automated dining table, offering a promising solution for simplifying and improving the cleanliness of dining environments while enhancing efficiency and hygiene standards in a very short time.

Foldable furniture is a trend of the modern furniture industry. However, apart from limitations attributed to multifunctionality and space saving characteristics, a complete design process documentation of foldable furniture is uncommon in furniture research. This study aims to develop a space-saving multipurpose table for improved ergonomic performance. Features and functions are extracted from research articles and patents for concept generation. The final concept is modelled using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2019. Mechanical simulations are done to confirm the structural integrity of the invention before prototyping and testing. The tests accounted for usage efficiency, space and usability. Using Minitab 19, the experimental data are analysed with t-tests. The survey data are analysed using Spearman’s correlation test via IBM SPSS Statistics version 21. Participants were able to complete tasks around 1.1–1.5 times faster with the proposed invention than with single-function furniture items. The amount of space occupied with the proposed invention was approximately 25–80% lesser than with the single-function furniture items placed together. The survey analysis demonstrated that there was a strong, positive and significant correlation between space saving effectiveness and ergonomic performance. Further developments to transition this invention to its commercialisation phase should be done to facilitate daily living domestic activities of society at large.

Capacitive deionization (CDI) is a promising desalination technique that gains more and more attentions worldwide in recent years due to its high efficiency and feasibility. In this work, the sulfuric acid functionalized activated carbon (FAC) is proposed as electrode for CDI. By compared to pristine AC, FAC electrode shows an improved microspores volume from 0.17 to 0.22 m3 g-1 and therefore a high electrosorption capacity of 3.54 mg g-1 as well as a charge efficiency of 0.21. Furthermore, the FAC electrode follows the Langmuir isotherm, indicating the monolayer adsorption. Besides, the pseudo-first-order can describe the adsorption kinetics of FAC electrode as compared to other kinetics models. Additionally, the FAC electrode can be regenerated very well.
