Abstract

Logistics plays a very important role in modern society which might be divided into logistics planning, logistics implementing and logistics controlling. In the logistics planning, transportation strategy is a key problem. Certainly, if the cost of logistics transportation planning needs to be lowest cost and high efficient, GIS will be concerned inevitably. GIS plays an important role and provides some references such as prediction, monitoring, planning and decision-making with the development of it. In fact, it is more and more large to the ratio of logistics transportation cost in the whole course of logistics and it is focused on the center of attention to how to reduce the logistics transportation cost and improve its efficiency. So, more and more researchers study on the dynamic routing planning in the logistics to reduce the logistics transportation distance and time on the advantage of multi-agent system (MAS). Additionally, most people want to improve their own spiritual and healthy quality on the basis of promotion in life-level with the development of market economy in order to carry out the full development of people. So it leads to the prosperity of sports tour industry. But how to take full advantage of the limited sports tour resource is becoming a key problem. So, this paper researches dynamic routing planning in logistics of sports tour resource and discusses the algorithm of the shortest path through the calculation on the basis of GIS and MAS in the region of logistics to the sports tour resource. It draws a conclusion that GIS can improve efficiency and quality promptly of transportation in the sports tour resource logistics. Meanwhile, it also improves algorithm of logistics transportation routing net in sports tour resource and provides some valuable references of development of sports tour industry and promotes social harmonious and healthy development in combination with MAS.

... In Arc routing problems, the demands are associated with the links between the nodes, called edges or arcs (in the undirected resp. directed case) [18]. In Fig. 2, classification of similar transport scenarios is characterized according to Node and Arc routing problems. ...
... One of the possible approaches to dynamic routing is based on usage of multi-agent systems. As an example, in the agents team used for solution of single source shortest path problem based on road network hierarchy [18] appeared graph constructing agents, agents interacting with the system user, etc. Other significant term in the domain of multi-agent systems is the environment, in which are the agents located. ...

The cash deployment strategy for a network of ATMs should take into account the analysis of inventory policies, logistics costs as well as the routing of replenishment vehicles. The optimal strategy has to focus on the reduction of cash-related expenses while safeguarding that ATMs do not run out of cash. Shorter routes with high time window constraints violations are not always the best solution. The problem, which can be tackled as a kind of rich vehicle routing problem is in the paper solved using parallel genetic algorithm. The proposed model 1 is able to solve cases with simultaneous requirements of several replenishments for some of the customers (ATMs) several times daily as well as a single replenishment in several days for other groups of customers. Dynamic vehicle routing problem (VRP) must rely on up-to-date information. One type of dynamic model may consider new customer orders that arise after the routes had been initially planned. In the light of this information, the vehicles need to be rerouted so as to reduce costs and meet customer service time windows.
... In the overall logistic planning the key area is transportation as it needs to be highly efficient with minimal cost. To make transportation efficient, optimized route determination plays a major role and with the help of technology it can facilitate better decision-making (Fang et al. 2011). The main challenge of soft drink industry is to find the optimized route for the vehicles to deliver the material to retailers. ...

This chapter aims to explore the significance of people management in the context of a radical change situation of post-merger integration. The concept of emotional balancing of employees by middle-level managers has been studied and applied to uncover its effect on projected change outcomes. To illustrate the purpose of the chapter, an extensive review of literature has been undertaken to identify the variables of emotional balancing and change outcomes. This is further validated by analyzing the case of Hindalco–Novelis merger and conducting a preliminary discussion with middle-level managers involved in it. The outcome of the chapter will be research propositions, hypothesizing the relationship between the research constructs, emotional balancing, and change outcomes. However, the research variables are verified in case of one organization, that is, Hindalco–Novelis merger, and hence generalization of the findings would be limited. A conceptual understanding can be developed, which can help middle managers predict what kind of emotional capability they should build up and identify employees’ emotions that should be taken care of to reduce the resistance to change.
... As a key problem in logistics planning is to evaluate a proper strategy of a transport, research interest is oriented to dynamic routes planning. This is an area, where multiagent systems can provide advantageous solutions [4], [5]. ...

Cooperative information systems are multi-agent systems with organizational platform and database layer conforming to open environment consisting of a different kinds of information sources. Mobility of actors introduces new challenges to workflow systems development. Context-aware voice user interfaces are one of promising approaches to optimize business processes and to reduce costs in business process management (BPM). The paper presents proposals and first achievements in integration of context-awareness, mobility, voice user interfaces, and routing optimization for BPM with multi-agent systems and workflows. Vehicle Routing Problem for ATM cash replenishment is used as basic scenario.

Interest in global logistics and supply chain management (GLSCM), both in industry and academia, has grown over past two decades. Many of the firms have discovered the magnitude of savings through planning and managing logistics networks more efficiently as logistics has emerged as “big business” (Lambert and Stock, strategic logistics management, 1993). In many organizations, supply chain management is started as “bare minimum necessary function” but later on turned out to be a function which helps in significant cost saving, impacts customer satisfaction, and in long run provides sustainable competitive advantage. It is therefore not surprising that many firms are involved in the analysis of their logistics networks. Logistics play a very important role in today’s cost-sensitive organizations. If we take the case of soft drink industry in India, transportation of goods across various distributors plays a very important role. The logistic strategy formulation requires proper planning of logistic, its implementation, and controlling of the same. In the overall logistic planning the key area is transportation as it needs to be highly efficient with minimal cost. In order to make transportation efficient, optimized route determination plays a major role and with the help of technology it can facilitate better decision-making (Fang et al., Dynamic transport planning in logistics of sports tour resource based on MAS and GIS, 2011). In fact, industry and academia is focused more on reducing the transportation cost, making it highly efficient. This chapter focuses on similar challenge of soft drink industry in India. It requires change in the transportation strategy keeping the existing retailers, vehicles, and people in place. This chapter brings out the enablers of flexibility in managing the transportation with the Indian soft drink industry. The chapter is concluded with action plans and scope for future work.

The consideration of environmental costs is essentially changing the transportation policy in developed countries. The reduction in total distance travelled will in itself provide environmental benefits due to the reduction in fuel consumed and in the resulting pollutants. The optimal strategy has to focus on the reduction of cash-related expenses while safeguarding that ATMs do not run out of cash.
