The comprehensive impact of regional traffic has attracted a lot of attention from society. If we can plan and configure the regional transportation in scientific and reasonable ways, it will promote local economic development greatly. Based on management perspectives, the paper states the development process of regional transportation route; explains the theoretical and practical meaning of transportation route planning; presents the purpose, principles, content, and methods of transportation route layout planning; and points out the development trend in future research.

Perceived traffic information value based on regret theory

Considering the differences of expected regrets with and without traveler information, this paper proposes explores the perceived value of traffic information, which plays a crucial role to assist commuters to make better route choices under risk averse decision pattern. [Show full abstract] traffic information obtained, in which the Bayesian updating method is adopted. A scenario with two routes under different combinative road conditions is used to illustrate the perceived value of traffic information. The commuters' familiar degrees of the two routes are assumed to be 90%, and the reliability of traffic information is set to be constant 95%. The simulation results indicate that the proposed model can comprehensively depict the changes of traveler's route choice behavior and the perceived traffic information values under different combinative route conditions.

Research conclusions: From the research on the schemes of the station types of the Guiyang East Station, it is concluded the layout of distributed yards should be adopted when several lines accessing into, the layout of the yards for the different lines should be adopted when there is a little exchange trains among the lines and the layout of the yards for the different directions should be adopted when there are many exchange trains among the lines. The method for selection of the general station type presented in this paper can provide the reference to the similar works.

This model can be adapted to the conditions that the discrepancy between the cost time difference for transportation modes in an OD zone and the cost time difference from each part in a city to its entrances is not very great (about 1 to 3 times) and sedans, as main trip vehicles, have popularized. Finally, the feasibility of the model has been validated by taking the Shanghai-Hangzhou area as an example.

A routing policy is defined as a decision rule that specifies what node to take next at each decision node based on realized link travel times and the current time. We establish a framework for optimal routing policy problems in stochastic time-dependent networks, which we believe is the first in the literature. We give a comprehensive taxonomy and an in-depth discussion of variants of the problem. We then study in detail one variant that is particularly pertinent in traffic networks, where both link-wise and time-wise stochastic dependencies of link travel times are considered and online information is represented. We give an exact algorithm to this variant, analyze its complexity and point out the importance of finding good approximations to the exact solution. We then overview several approximations, and present a summary of a theoretical and computational analysis of their effectiveness against the exact algorithm.

Study on how the dynamic or online concept has been implemented in traffic routing focusing on definition of dynamic routing, traffic routing environment, traffic routing policy and routing strategy is reviewed in this paper. Some issues such as proactive routing and handling non-recurrent congestion are properly expounded while highlighting some limitations as well as suggestions for future research. As a conclusion, dynamic traffic routing is shown to be an important method in optimizing traffic congestion release. More studies need to be conducted in search of better solution.
