Pólo agroindustrial municipal como estratégia de desenvolvimento socioeconômico: o caso de Mogi-Guaçu

Abstract

Municipal agroindustrial poles can be a strategy for moving into a higher economic growth stage by integrating the farming and cattle raising into the industrial complex. The purpose of this paper is to develop a diagnosis to aid the decision-making process of setting up an agroindustrial pole in Mogi-Guaçu, SP, Brazil. The methodology applied was based on the economic theory, including a survey on available natural resources, population, as well as existing technological asn corporate capabilities. In addition to the interest shown by municipal officials, natural resources have proven to be enough, there is a proven workforce available, and there are the necessary capital and infrastructural resources, technological support and an entrepreneural class willing to make the Mogi-Guaçu Pole feadible.
