Utilization of CRT waste glass in the glass tiles
manufacturing process - developing technological
parameters
2
Project objective
The primary objective of this application is
to undertake effective actions aimed at environment
protection through developing the assumptions for
technology of a new product, with value in use,
produced from waste CRT glass.

Research objective
The research objective of the present project is to
select the parameters for manufacturing waste glass
plates in such a way as to obtain a new product with
physicochemical parameters resembling those of
ceramic plates specified by the norm: EN14411:2009
Ceramic plates: definitions, classification, properties
and marking”.
Scope of research activites
1. Determination of physical and chemical properties of kinescope
glass in relation to screen glass and cone glass
2. Development of elementary process parameters for glass tile
manufacturing technology
3. Manufacturing a batch of glass tiles in semi-technical scale.
4. Tests of tiles according to EN14411:2009 „Ceramic tiles.
Definition, classification, properties and marking” and Life Cycle
Analysis (LCA) of tile produced from waste glass.
5. Development of parameters for the technology of waste kinescope
glass utilization (documentation)
