This study of the quality of life of 135 visually impaired adults (aged 20–50) who were employed in extended-employment programs in Israel found that overall, the quality of life was associated with the participants' acceptance of their visual impairments and their years of seniority in the programs.

ABSTRACT INTRODUCTION: Quality of life research in young adult population is recent, scarce and focused on either validation of tests or pathologies. OBJECTIVE: To compare the quality of life of Colombian young adult population and sex. METHOD: This is a descriptive, comparative and exploratory study. The PedsQLTM 4.0 questionnaire was applied to 162 participants aged 18 to 25 in Medellin, Colombia. RESULTS: Quality of life is high regarding physical condition, psycho-social and emotional wellbeing, especially in social function. The study shows no difference in quality of life among men and women. CONCLUSIONS: Through the evaluation of quality of life, it is possible to explore the young adult's physical and mental health. It allows the specialist to identify areas in life that require specific intervention on time.
