Abstract

Mineral choice optimization is a basic key issue that related to whether the entire reserve system is able to adapt to the sustainable use of national mineral resources. In this paper, we may determine indicators' weight using improved group AHP (analytic hierarchy process) combined with objective weight of each decision-maker, and according to this, the most important index is “technical difficulty of reserve”, to which the government should pay more attention to. Then we added these weights into indicator variables of hierarchical clustering analysis in order to classify mineral reserve more reasonably taking the typical resources as an example, and the obtained result was consistent to the government's macroeconomic qualitative analysis. We divided typical mineral resources into four batches for reserving; among these batches, coal was taken granted as the intensive reserve object. Those scarce resources that China has advantage of should also be immediately included in the reserve object such as Tungsten, Tin, and Rare earth. To a certain extent, the results can lay foundation for the establishment of strategic reserve mechanism of mineral resources in China.

The credibility evaluation of models has attracted extensive attention in Modeling and Simulation (M&S). With increasingly complex models, multiple domain experts are required to jointly assess the credibility of a model. Group analytic hierarchy process (GAHP) is a method by many experts to make decision. In GAHP, the preference aggregation of group members is a critical procedure. However, the impact of expert number and indicator priority order on the evaluation results has not been well considered in previous preference aggregation procedure yet. In this paper, we first propose a novel preference aggregation procedure, priority probability conversion (PPC), to enhance the effectiveness of GAHP, named PPC-GAHP. Then, we introduce a commonly used evaluation criteria for such procedures. Finally, a numerical example is provided to elucidate the details of the proposed procedure and is compared with other aggregation procedures in GAHP to further demonstrate its validity.

The problem of urban decay in Hong Kong is getting worse recently; therefore, the importance of urban renewal in improving the physical environment conditions and the living standards of the citizens is widely recognized in the territory. However, it is not an easy task for the Hong Kong Government to prepare welcome urban renewal proposals because the citizens, professionals and other concerned parties have their own expectations which are difficult to be addressed all at the same time. Although it is impossible to satisfy all stakeholders concerning urban renewal, it is preferable to have proposals conforming to the interests of the majority and beneficial to the present and future generations. This paper adopts the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to work out the most sustainable design proposal for an area undergoing urban renewal. AHP is a robust multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method for solving social, governmental and corporate decision problems. Since there is a lack of published papers demonstrating a systematic and effective way for urban renewal proposal assessment, this paper attempts to fill this gap with the help of AHP.

As the intelligent railway is the trend of current railway development, the paper aims to show an overview of the Railway Intelligent Transportation System (RTI'S) in China. Firstly, the current transportation situation in China is given and then some basic concepts of RTI'S are talked about as well. Secondly, the necessity of RTI'S is analyzed to show its strategic position. Then, the overall architecture of RTI'S is introduced here to make a clear picture of RTI'S and how it works. Finally, apart from key technologies in RTI'S, its sustainable strategies are mentioned to show the future development of RTI'S.

Researching for the characteristics and reliability of urban rail transit network by using complex network theory has certain significance on rail transit's planning and efficiency improvement. In this paper, the topological structure of the Guangzhou urban rail transit network was made by space L and space P methods. The network characteristics, such as average path length, clustering coefficient and degree distribution were selected in each method. Then the network's reliability was discussed, and the results show that the Guangzhou rail transit network at present is classified as a random network. When suffered from selected attack, the average travel length and the global efficiency are increasing; the local efficiency keeps the same. As long as most of the stations work well, the entire rail network structure is relative stable.
