Evidence of effectiveness of school health promotion In the EMR Region

Abstract

This presentation will describe the evidence Indicators of effectiveness of school health promotion, such as; minimizing the bureaucracy to school, increasing the participation of pupils, school staff and parents and governors, and maximizing the degree of national consistency and the rigor of judgment of healthy school status. Also, guidance about gathering of evidence, such as ; evidence from pupils, gathered by conversation, by questionnaire, by focus group, by group discussion or by other means that would broadly reflect the whole school view will be discussed. Trials of school health promotion in some countries of the region will be presented with more emphasis on their philosophy, objectives, strategies, challenges, achievements and future vision. The following questions will be discussed during presentation; Who is the provider of the program ?, which is better insured or non-insured health services ?, School health services/programs ?,which to apply Partnership / Cooperation /or Integration ?, what to strengthen more Preventive/ or curative services ? is the school entry comprehensive examination cost – effective in the region? And is the student hospital a necessity for the school health program?. Then how to close the achievement gap among students of different cultures and different ethnic groups will be highlighted.
