Glasflüglernachweise in Österreich (Lepidoptera, Sesiidae). – Mitteilungen der Entomologischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft Salzkammergut 2, 1-171.
Abstract
Records of clear wing moths in Austria (Lepidoptera, Sesiidae) are compiled from ZOODAT (Zoogeographical Data bank of Austria, Linz), literature and several private and museum collections. 46 species of clear wing moths were found in Austria to date. 2 species (Bembecia megillaeformis and Pyropteron chrysidiformis) were not quoted occurring in Austria by LAŠTUVKA & LAŠTUVKA (1995), 1 species (Synanthedon soffneri) was apparently overseen by LAŠTUVKA & ŠPATENKA in KARSHOLT & RAZOWSKI (1996).
The distribution of all species is shown in detailed maps covering Europe and Austria, respectively. A list of all cited locations is given including geographical coordinates.
For each species phenological data and altitude of occurrence are provided, both referring to Austrian records.
5 species previously reported from Austria do not occur in this country: Synanthedon typhiaeformis, Bembecia uroceriformis, Chamaesphecia doryliformis, C. alysoniformis and C. oxybeliformis.
Since the year of publication of the first supplement to the Prodromus of Salzburg Macrolepidoptera 1990 (EMBACHER 1995) eleven species are recorded for the first time for the fauna of Salzburg (Austria): Megalophanes turatii (STDGR.), Synanthedon stomoxiformis (HB.), Synanthedon conopiformis (ESP.), Synanthedon cephiformis (O.), Pyrgus trebevicensis (WARR.), Pyrgus warrenensis (VRTY.), Leptidea reali REISSINGER, Diachrysia tutti (KOSTR.), Acontia lucida (HUFN.), Heliothis nubigera H.-S. and Euxoa crypta (DADD). Thera variata mugo BURM. & TARM., a taxon of uncertain status, is also recorded for the first time. Distributional information on some species is updated and some previous errors are corrected. Zusammenfassung Seit dem Erscheinen des 1. Nachtrages zum Prodromus von 1990 (EMBACHER 1995) wurden elf für die Fauna des Landes Salzburg (Österreich) neue Lepidopterenarten festgestellt: Megalophanes turatii (STDGR.), Synanthedon stomoxiformis (HB.), Synanthedon conopiformis (ESP.), Synanthedon cephiformis (O.), Pyrgus trebevicensis (WARR.), Pyrgus warrenensis (VRTY.), Leptidea reali REISSINGER, Diachrysia tutti (KOSTR.), Acontia lucida (HUFN.), Heliothis nubigera H.-S. und Euxoa crypta (DADD). Dazu kommt noch das von BURMANN & TARMANN 1983 beschriebene Taxon Thera variata mugo, dessen Status unsicher ist. Weiters werden Ergänzungen und Korrekturen zu einigen bereits früher nachgewiesenen Arten vermerkt. Einleitung Durch intensive Sammel-und Forschungstätigkeit gelang es dem Autor und weiteren Mitarbeitern der Entomologischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft am Museum "Haus der Natur" in Salzburg sowie Kolle-gen aus dem angrenzenden Oberösterreich, wieder einige für die Lepidopterenfauna Salzburgs neue Arten festzustellen und interessante Hinweise zu anderen Arten zu erlangen. Es handelt sich bei den Neufunden teils um bodenständige Arten, die bisher den Nachforschungen entgangen sind, teils um früher nicht als eigenständige Arten erkannte Taxa und teils um Spezies, die nicht unserer Fauna angehören (Wanderer, Irrgäste).
The present paper gives an review of all corrections and new records to "Die Schmetterlinge Österreichs" (HUEMER & TARMANN 1993) concerning the province of Salzburg. The data are confined to Macrolepidoptera sensu classico and the species of Pyraloidea. Zusammenfassung Die vorliegende Arbeit gibt eine Übersicht über alle Neuerungen und Korrekturen der Angaben für das Land Salzburg in der Liste "Die Schmetterlinge Österreichs" (HUEMER & TARMANN 1993). Die Angaben beschränken sich auf die "Großschmetterlinge" (sensu classico) und die Arten der Überfamilie Pyraloidea. Einleitung Seit dem Erscheinen der Liste österreichischer Schmetterlinge (HUEMER & TARMANN 1993) sind 8 Jahre vergangen. Vieles hat sich seit dieser Zeit verändert: neue Arten wurden gefunden oder als solche erkannt, andere wurden eingezogen und synonymisiert, einige Spezies wurden als neu für die Fauna Österreichs entdeckt und Irrtümer wurden erkannt und bereinigt (siehe HUEMER 2000). Vor einer Neuauflage der Österreichliste ist es nun wichtig, daß auch die Angaben für die einzelnen Bundesländer überarbeitet und auf den letzten Stand gebracht werden. Für das Land Salzburg liegen seit 1993 viele Publikationen in verschiedenen Fachzeit-schriften vor, und es erscheint daher notwenig, eine zusammenfassende Übersicht über alle Neuerungen und Korrekturen zu geben. Im "Prodromus der Großschmetterlings-fauna Salzburgs" (EMBACHER 2000) wird zwar bereits einiges geklärt, doch konnten seither bereits wieder 5 neue Arten für Salzburg nachgewiesen werden (ein erster Nach-trag ist in Vorbereitung), und außerdem werden in dieser Arbeit auch die Neuerungen in der Überfamilie Pyraloidea berücksichtigt. Bei bereits publizierten Angaben werden Hinweise zur Literatur beigefügt.
Chamaesphecia palustris Kautz 1927 and Paranthrene insolita Le Cerf 1914 are reported the first time from Carinthia, Southern Austria. The clear wing moth C. palustris was collected more than 50 years ago north of Klagenfurt and P. insolita in June 2000.
The first records of the clear-wing moths Paranthrene insolita LE CERF 1914 and Bembecia albanensis (REBEL 1918) for Upper Austria are reported. The differences of the closely related species P. insolita and P. tabaniformis as well as B. albanensis and B. ichneumoniformis are briefly discussed.
Two new forms of the clear-wing moth Synanthedon scoliaeformis (BORKHAUSEN 1789) from Upper Austria are described: f. aurea and f. aura.
3 species of clear wing moths (Sesiidae) have been recorded new for Austria since HUEMER & TARMANN (1993) published their list of butterflies and moths of Austria. A lot of new records for individual countries have been mentioned so far in several papers, but some have not yet been published. These all are summarized here to update the list of HUEMER & TARMANN (1993).
A 1st Addendum to the Records of clear wing moths in Austria (Lepidoptera, Sesiidae) is provided, compiling further 450 records from literature and several private and museum collections.
The first records of the two clear-wing moths Synanthedon stomoxiformis (HÜBNER 1790) and S. cephiformis (OCHSENHEIMER 1808) for Salzburg are reported. Sesia bembeciformis (HÜBNER [1806]) - not yet recorded from Salzburg - was found just 1 km off the border in Upper Austria. The larvae and pupation tubes of S. stomoxiformis were found not only on Frangula alnus and Rhamnus catharticus, but also on Sorbus aria and exceptionally Corylus avellana!
Detailed information to the biology of 34 species of clearwing moths is given. All species recorded in Upper Austria or supposed to occure are treated. Additional distribution maps of Europe and Austria are included. The work is based on a critical revision of a large amount of single publications and on personal observations.
The first record of the clear-wing moth Chamaesphecia tenthrediniformis ([DENIS & SCHIFFERMÜLLER] 1775) for Upper Austria is reported. The differences of the two closely related species C. tenthrediniformis and empiformis as well as the biology of the former are discussed.
Synanthedon soffneri SPATENKA 1983 is reported the first time from Upper Austria. The clear wing moth was found by means of synthetical pheromones. The history of its discovery and its biology are compiled. The biotope is discribed and the use of pheromone traps is discussed.
The first record of the clear-wing moth Synanthedon conopiformis (ESPER, 1782) for Salzburg is reported. The species was found by means of synthetical pheromones. Its biology is shortly discussed and the biotope is described.
