Photometric measurements of the bright Algol variable system V 505
Sagittarii obtained between 1973 and 1979 are presented. Observations in
the B and V bands from the steepest parts of the descending and
ascending branches of the primary eclipse are used to obtain the times
of five primary minima with full certainty, and two times with less
certainty. The period is observed to show only small

suggesting a low state of mass transfer from the subgiant to the
primary, where a temporary storage of angular momentum takes place,
during the years 1968-1976, although the minima observed in 1978 and
1979 deviate from the predicted relation. Mean light curves are derived
for the 1972-1976 observations, and deviations of individual
observations are noted.
