In this work, we identify some theorems-in-act belonging to the
schemes that govern the teaching practice of mathematics teachers.
The analysis of interviews, the study of the mathematical organization
and those related to teaching that actually took place in the classroom,
allowed us to identify the theorem of underestimation of the student as
a central postulate in the teaching´ structures taken into account. This
underestimation doe’s not foster meaningful learning in their students- it
only favors mechanical learning.
