This article analyses the experience of the Sulawesi Regional Development Project being implemented with the assistance of the Canadian International Development Agency and the University of Guelph. The experience is reported on, lessons are outlined for other projects and recommendations are made to those with an interest in project development, administration and management. Selected elements of the experience of a Canadian university, contracted to assist in a project of this type, are also reported on.
