A group of survivors of torture (40 male, 25 female, mean age 29 yrs) who had been detained for political reasons were tested using CAPS and other instruments. Correlation coefficients between CAPS and other clinical measures ranged from .63 to .77. 63% of the Ss were diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Turkish version of the CAPS was found to be reliable and valid to assess PTSD in survivors of torture. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
